Default VIN location?

I know VIN can be found by the windshield, and also on the label at door.
But I was wondering if there are more places I can find VIN such as hatch, fender, hood, etc...

I would look in more places than that. A lot of manufacturers are placing the last 6 digits or more of your VIN on places like your fenders and other parts you wouldn't think of. It is designed to help stop the auto theft resales. On my last car, I was amazed at all the parts that had it etched into the surface.

There is a huge VIN # stamped into the metal across the back of the engine bay on the firewall. The other one is a small silver metal plaque that has the Vin and a bunch of other useful info like the paint code. It's on the passenger side of the engine bay near the battery vent line.
