Default Throttle Control Actuator

So I brought my Z in to have the dealership figure out why my SEL was coming on and the car going into limp mode...

They claim that its the throttle control actuator (an $800 part supposedly), and its the first time they've ever had a 350Z come in with this problem. Of course they don't have the part in stock so they have to order it. The best part is this happened at 38001 miles, so the warrenty JUST expired last month. They are going to try and see if Nissan will offer any kind of good faith discount to me, but the guy that handles warrenty claims has left for the weekend.

Anyone else experience something similar?

Have the ECU codes checked at an auto parts stores (usually free) so you can know for sure whether or not its the TCA.

Just experienced this with my 1 month old 3500 mile Z. Shut down on my last night coming home from ATL while in Cruise Control. They are ordering the TCA and won't be in til Monday. He said it should be fine til then. I am going on about a 500 mile trip this weekend. Is that bad? Long-Term?

I actually had my car go INTO "limp" mode on a 500 mile trip last june. I happened half way there and I had no clue what was going on. To make things worse, it happeded on a Saturday at about 1 in the afternoon, when all the dealers are closing. I drove back home and had it fix that following Monday. They replaced the Throttle Control Actuator.
