Default Video: Zero to 159mph with APS ST...

Finished fabricating my camera mount this afternoon - waited until this evening when it cooled down to at least 90º and you could see the gauges better...

Video is best in 720x480 display (tho a 15MB file)... oh well. In the meantime, I'm stuck with offering the following...

Option 1:

Option 2: My *** Webspace if Zippy is DL'ing crappy...

Option 3 for the truly desperate: StreetFire Link

Enjoy

Earlier today I did a quick 0 - 100 run down the street - too hot to do more than that, and you can't see the gauges 'cept for the needle hubs... but the sound is nice

APS spool up and BOV

'How To' of the day: kinda ghetto, but easy and economical.

As you can see, nothing more than a 24" piece of aluminum square rod, two 9/16" holes drilled to accomodate the headrest, a 1/4 x 2" bolt with rubber washer that goes into the camera.... doesn't interefere with seatbelt or window.... and I can flip the LCD screen around and adjust focus/viewable area.

Cost: $0
Time: 15 mins
Materials: aluminum square rod, drill bit, drill, sharpie, file.

How come you don't mount it more centrally between the seats?

Also, be careful with that seat fabric, because the slightest abrasion will tear it apart!

I could mount it there, but then you wouldn't see the speedo or part of the tach (covered by the wheel, already tried...) or the boost gauge from that vantage. If needed, I can flip the bar over and do that (i.e. track days, whatever...)

I can't really see anything except the silver center thing on some of the guages. But I guess it would be a different story at night.

That's good that you can flip it.

EDIT: I only watched the 0-100 run.

Wow that was great. I have never sat in the driver seat of a turbo charged Z. I was interesting to see the engine temp gauge go up. Also how easy it was for you to push 150+ mph. Tight video!

Damn, I'm at work so I can't see it. I'll have to check it when I get home. I'd like to hit you up for a ride when the temps drop some. Looks like winter will be here early as temps have dropped signifcantly at night.

That looked like red and blue lights up ahead on the 159 mph run and you were still going over 100 mph when the video ended.

Wow you need to get an upgraded ratiator or yours isn't working right because there's no reason for you tep to get that high on one run like that... your going to damage you engine....get that fixed asap... other than that nice run....
