HIDs. The first one on the right is non-HID (base).

Glad to see another TN Z'er.

Yah the hid's are pretty blue...especially when you first turn them on. Plus that pic has some kinda of polarizing filter or something to cut the glare which may increase the perceived blueness some also.

You can also change out the dim parking light bulb which gives off kind of a dull yellowish-brown color with a super white or blue led replacement bulb to further enhance the headlights blue look.

I dunno, if I have any lights on at all I go all the way to head lights. What type of car was your old car that actually had just parking lights look good?

it was a honda accord coupe, which i know what youre thinking.lol, but it was black with black windows, and black wheels with the polished lip... so when it was riding down the road, the parking lights kindof set it off(im not the only one who thought it, other people said so, so i did it)

imo my Z's stock parking lights are kinda ugly with the dim, brownish bulbs...I've been meaning to drop in some led's or super white bulbs but I"ve been busy doing other mods. I'll get around to it eventually.

That said...you can't beat the hid's for looks so I usually go ahead and turn them on when any lights are needed.

but around here(no offense) but a lot of the "ricers" use the bluish white bulbs in their turn signals in their neons, and maximas and such. i dont want to fall in the group, so ive always stayed away from clear lights or altezzas. i hated my tail lights in my coupe, so i got some rc car paint(window tint in color) and painted them black, you could see the lights, but you couldnt tell they were taillights until they were on. looked like it didnt have any

btw, are the parking lights not orange like they should be? orange IMO doesnt look bad, but if they are brown then i dont want that

Yes the turn signals are amber. I can't stand the rice blue, green, heck you name it color turn signals either.

I'm not talking about the turn signals though...the z has another small bulb in the headlamp which is imo a ugly brown...you'll know which bulb I'm talking about when you turn your parking lamps on for the first time .

edit:
search here and you'll see what I'm talking about. It called a city light or something. Anyway a lot of guys here change this out to a blueish hid led or super white and it improves the look a lot .

I don't think the one on the right was a base. Those cars are Middle TN Z Club cars, and I know of no base models that would have been there.

I think maybe VandyZ took that, so you could ask.

When the hid's are on...I don't think you will really see the small led anyway. Brightness of the hid's will "drown-out" the led. Plus I bet you can probably find a "whiter" led somewhere.

Could the group of tn cars in the first pic all have the led mod(except the end one)? It kinda looks like that's the led parking lights and not the actual hid headlights.

edit:
if your worried about matching...don't worry the stock brown parking light bulb REALLY doesn't match the hid's.

They are really only that blue when you first turn them on. Once they warm up they are more white

I love the look of the HID's but I have a base model. What is the price to upgrade to HID's?
