Default Clutch experts look!

Today my Z's developed somewhat odd squeaking noise.

The noise comes from the clutch pedal...every time I shift up.
Every time when I let out the clutch after shifting up, there's this sharp, but sudden squeaking noise from my clutch pedal.

It seems that when I let it out smoothly between shifts, it doesn't make the squeaking noise.
But whenever I let it out pretty fast(i.e. spirited driving)
it seems to make the noise.
I have NISMO clutch btw...
Any idea what is causing this?

I just did some research and two possible causes might be:

1. My clutch bearing is starting to fail.

2. The bushing is shot.

The squeak only is apparent when the car is moving, so i don't think
lubricating it will fix the problem.

Can anyone confirm?

BTW, is 'release bearing' and 'throw-out bearing' the same thing?

I have this problem as well as posted in a diff. thread...my clutch squeaks whenever i press on it with my foot...doesn't matter if the car is moving or standing still in neutral...it squeaks whenever depressed. It sounds like rubber or something rubbing against each other...any thoughts?

In your case your pedal linkage or rubber bushing that might just need some grease. I use a needle fitting that goes on my grease gun to get into really small places. You should also check to make sure the pedal moves as it should when you grease it. Look at the linkage to see if it is bent or loose.

If your under warantee: Take it back to the dealer, if something is bent/loose/squeeking they will just replace the whole thing generally.
The Dealerships are not very good it fixing squeeks. They just start replacing stuff.

I think they get paid more from the manufacturer for replacing parts! Make sense??
