i wish everyday i go in the garage i see a 06 silverstone touring 350Z...... but i see a silver sti =(

no, i do know, i traded in a prelude to get the z, so i've been there, i just wanted it bad enough to do it.

guys have any good ideas how to convince my dad to get a Z in like 6months cuz hes pays for my car

 

how long ago did he/you buy the sti?

 

a year ago its a 05 we got 3 year financing and the downpayment was $12,000

 

well, i think it would be a hard sell to explain to your dad why you guys should trade in a new, practical and perfectly good car, for another, thats not nearly as practical...

maybe you can jedi mind trick him into getting a z for himself and then you two can share your cars...

anything's possible though, if you have a dad that is cool enough to buy you an sti with 12k down, maybe he'll be open to a suggestion of a trade in for a z, you never know. but you run the risk of coming off as ungrateful or unsatisified with an awesome car that he just bought you.

ok, well these kind of z's will exist next year, and there will still be new 06's this time next year too.

so no lose for you, you just hang in there(not like you have to "settle" anyways, you're still driving an awesome car) for a year, if that, i'm sure if you save some cash to toss towards the cause it will show your pops it is something you really want and he'll cave sooner - its cool that you have a pops that was even open to the idea.

i'd put this one in the "W" column if i were you.

 

if u trade in a car that is still being financed how much money will go toward the purchanse of the Z ?

 

well that all depends on how much the dealership is willing to give you for your sti, you'd probably be better off selling it private party since you already have paid 12k on an 05. when i traded in my prelude they just paid off what i owed on the lude and then i put money down on the z, nothing rolled over from the sale/trade of the lude.
