Default Clearbra

I have heard that the 3M clearbra is the one to get. My local dealer wants $700 for the full kit and he said he would include tiniting of all the windows.

First, does that sound like a good deal? and second, I have not seem one of these on a car. Can anyone post a picture for me. I know they are supposed to be hard to notice but I would like to see for myself.

Thanks

IN my opinion I would not reccomend a pre-cut, they tend to not fit as well.

$700 seems fair (You can get a full bra for under $500 though) if it includes tinting your windows, make sure he does the mirrors and headlights while he's at it.

It is not the kit. It is custom cut from CAD drawings. (XPEL) Thats pretty much what I figured about the price. Nothing is for free it is there way of making me feel like I am getting a good deal. Never thought about the mirrors. Good idea. Not sure I would do the lights though. Thanks for the input.

Would still like to see a pic if anyone has one.

Thanks

I don't like clear bras. For that price I can get a new Nismo bumper and more.

I have one, it was pre-cut (just have the hood partial and fenders), the fit is perfect, cant notice it's there accept for the line where it ends on the hood. Protected from many stones, i would have liked the entire bumper as well, which is very prone to clips as well as the mirrors.

I got the bumper, Not quite half of the hood, the lights, and the mirrors done. Mine was done with the CAD and it cost me $600.00. When I took it in, this was the first Z that they had done and they were amazed at how big the bumper was. They were use to doing Vipers. I thought $600 was a good price and worth every penny I spent. Another $100 for a tint job sound like a good deal.

I recommend getting the headlights covered. I have a friend that wrapped his car, and AFTER a rock took a fat chunk of it, went back and had that done. That stuff works miracles!

AZNNBLK

I sent you a PM with my email. Thanks

Also, how do you like the sound of the NISMO catback? Thats my next purchase. I have heard sounds clips of all of them and I like the NISMO the best I think.

$700 for the Clearbra installed including tint is about what I paid. It's worth every penny to keep your car looking good. I disagree about not using the precut stuff though. The "custom" ones involve a dude with a razor blade cutting along the edges of the car. I've had a few XPel pre-cut bras now and they all fit to acceptable tolerances. There are pics of my car at the link in the sig, it's black... can you see it?

It shines the same for the most part. Just wax it along with your paint. They will tell you to care for it the same way as you do your paint. The only thing you shouldn't do it direct a high-pressure wand at the edge of it, for obvious reasons. Otherwise, after waxing just use a couple of q-tips to get the wax off the leading edge and you're good to go. The installer gave me some special plastic protectant in a can to use on the bra. The bugs just fall off in the car wash with that stuff on.

I am not sure if your clear bra dealer also told you that these are also available for the Z. I am sure it would be for additional cost of course. Look at the attachment for what is available for the Z. I included the hood fender and mirrors and the bumper kit for the visual for those who don't know.

I have been lurking for some time and will most likely become a Z owner in the spring. I am also a clear bra installer.

I will be getting the bumper, hood, fenders, and mirrors. I want to see about the lower part of the door sills done as this is a spot i always seem to catch with my work shoes. I have the aluminum sill plates but nothing covers the lower portion.

With everyones input, I decided to go for it. I was even able to talk them down to $625 for the full kit including bumper and mirrors as well as getting all the windows tinted. Now I just have to decide between 20%or 35%. Damm car forcing me into tough decisions. LOL

Thanks for all your help guys.
