Id still drive it, Ive waited long enough to get my Z and im not putting her away for the winter. If i feel that she cant deal with teh snow on teh ground mid-winter, ill be slapping a set of all seasons on the rims and just buying some aftermarkets for my stock potenza.....

A little snow never hurt anyone, but if you have something you would rather drive then drive that.

Its your call, its your car.... but up to me, i want to be seen all year round in it!

I cant tell, is that a track? or 17"?

if its a track Id be hesitent, depends how much the light snow ends up being. I wouldnt take 8.5inch tires into the snow. but the 17" tires might fare ok to a certain point.

looks like the 17s

if i were to drive in snow though
i would put a couple sandbags or bricks or something heavy in the back just as a precaution

that goes both ways tho, while heavy weight may reduce your chances of slipping, if you still manage to slip, your gonna go farther with the extra momentum.

They look like the 18" non rays to me. I'd be careful with any model. One of the guys on here with a Track got stuck in a light snow and got in an accident. Car is still in the shop, so please be careful if you do take it out.

Smile Thanks for the input....

I decided to drive the Z this morning. as I headed south I saw a few little flakes flying. I am leaving at noon today so perhaps there wont be much flying around. It usually dose not stick to the roads here. It lands and melts. I wonder how she is going to handle in the wet? I did drive a track in a rain storm and it handled great... we shall see.. I have three different ways I can drive home.. Hi Way.. surface roads city and surface roads around city... wish me luck!

My Z is a 6sp Touring 18inch wheels with everything you can get in it. A tight little package.

Cheers!

The summer tires can handle light snow and heavy rain, but I HIGHLY advise against driving the car in heavy snow. I had the misfortune of having to drive my Z through a snow storm a few weeks ago and it was not a pleasant experience.

I ended up leaving my Z over at my gf's and drive her Mazda Protege home, which, incidentally, performed much better than the Z.

Default Ahhhhhhh...whew

Nothing happened... A few flakes in the morning.. When I left.. all I had to deal with was FREAKIN STUPID morons who dont know how to merge.... had to pop it up to 80 off the ramp.. a breeze.

So..lets see what tomorrow does.. if its not snowing.. I am driving my fun car..leaving my Ram at home to rest... going from the Z to the Ram is real weird... sloppy steering and slow starts to tight.. oh so tight everything.. and speed ...

Thanks for all the input... If we get more than 3 inches on the ground its gone within an hour. If w ever get more than 3 inches and it sticks.. everybody in this town will die.

For those of you who have driven in heavy rain how is it. I live in Miami, and it tends to rain a lot in the summer-rainy season. Z comes in any day.

The problem isn't how much snow is out there it is the temperature. The summer tires that come with the car get very hard with the temperature below 40 degrees. When it gets to freezing temperatures your tires get hard as steel and then loose there grip. Also, the tread design is terrible for the snow. I have driven my Z in deep snow and ice with now problems. But I have Blizzak LM-22s. I don't need sandbags or anything else.

IMO under NO circumstances should you risk driving the Z in ANY type of snow. The stock tires are for the summer only! Last week, I took the Z out for a spin on a clear cold day, parked for 2 hours and when I came out there was a light dusting of snow on the roads. On the highway at low speeds, the Z was fishtailing and it was indeed a scary moment. Tomorrow, I am putting snows on rather than all season radials.

Be safe!

Default Ohio350z.. got a pic of those tires?

I am interested in those tires.... Not that I am going to need them.. but I might!

Today is the second time my Z saw water falling from the sky.. and it was not a heck of a lot. I have driven a track Z in the rain and yeah.. its damn stable... temp was around 70ish.

I have watched a 4point change in my tire pressure guage... way freaky.

It's just a car! Drive it when you want to, where you want to.

Default Okay... I see what you mean

Hahahaa.... This morning...Called work.. no heavy snow but a few sprinkles.. packed the Z .. got in.. opened the garage door.. rolled out... slid a foot.. drove back in the garage... A fine layer of snow had fallen and then frozen on my driveway.. its almost a flat driveway and I slid a foot just touching the breaks...

So my Dodge Ram was driven in to work. And boy am I glad I did. I believe I could have gotten out of my drive.. but to see all the other idiots spinning around in little circles was scary.. With my truck I was able to avoid them.. but with the maneuvering I had to do.. I.E. driving up a curb to park in a median so that the idiots could bang off the curb and not me.. whew

You all have a great Holiday tomorrow... I am sure sometime in the day I will visit with you nice people!

The summer tires perform really well in heavy rain.

my car ist stuck 60 miles away under a pile of fresh blizzard snow.

The stock tires are useless in any kind of snow. I foolishly beleived the weather reports about 'flurries' and ended up having to pull over and get the car towed the remaining six miles to my Dad's place. Normal cars were ditched all over the place, or in accidents. It was scary as hell, but I fortunately did not wreck my car.

I want to get snow tires on her and get her home ASAP - but I'm not even sure how I can drive her to a shop to have tires put on

waiting for some warm melting weather.

Ditto........I bought LM-22s also, in stock 17 inch sizes, and they are MUCH better. A MUST in cold weather. I put them on some inexpensive rims, as I don't want to switch tires off rims, and I LIKE the stock 17 inch wheels.

What kind of rims are those, EnthuZ? They actually look pretty good for cheapos. How much did they run with the tires? Thanks...
