Default WTF? Somebody stole my shorty antenna again off my Z

I went to "The Standards" in downtown LA last night to chill with some friends. I parked my car at Pershing square underground parking. After dinner with some kool chicks and we talked and stayed till around 2am. So I needed to go home feeling tired.

Long story short, After I made it home, went to the back of my trunk got my suits out and ready get in the house. Suddenly I noticed my shorty antenna grew back to the factory stock. WTF? The guy who stole my shorty actually replaced with a stock one on my Z. But little did he knew that the one he stole was also my original stock antenna except I cut it short to the same length identical to the s2k antenna. I stood outside in the cold for a couple minutes and started cracking up...Now I gotta cut this one shorty again 1st thing tomorrow when I wake up. God! I feel so violated...

I cut my original stock antenna short to look like the s2k antenna becuz the 1st one(s2k ant.) I bought was also stolen last year at some parking lot. Save your stock antenna for me if you already have a shorty one replaced cos I don't plan to buy anymore. Lolz

Unless you normally take your antenna on and off for whatever reason, may I suggest using some Locktite on the threads. One of the Locktite formulas (red or blue, I can't remember) is used to secure engine components during assembly and requires a fair amount of torque to break loose. That'll stop the casual passerby from doing a quick ****** of your modified antenna.

I'm originally from the East Coast (now living in L.A.) and here, if it drops below 60 at any point, it is considered "cold." They have Breaking News alerts on the news, and everyone frantically asks, "When will the cold streak END?!" News teams rush out into the nearly unbearable temperatures to cover the story... "Bob, I'm actually out here in the cold!" "You're brave Sally!" The weatherman does an actual live report, not just the usual tape that they put in of him saying, "75 degrees and clear for the next few days..."

There was a shot of the storm in North Dakota (I think it was) and the anchor last night on one station actually said, "We're a wussy state." I think it was channel 5 (not a station I usually watch but there was some car chase on heh).

lol chicken that's incredible. How can it get stolen the first day? I think that's hilarious how they stole your antenna and actually had the courtesy to replace it with a stock one LOL. If you guys haven't noticed I don't like how the s2000 antenna doesn't fit properly on the 350z. There's a small gap and it's a bit oversized.

That's a good idea. I've never thought about that.

This probably wouldn't work. All antena's recieve RF signals and transmit them as an electrical current from the antenna to the reciever. The metal to metal contact is required for electrical conductivity. If you put loc-tite on the threads it would reduce your electrical conductivity essentially adding in a huge resistor and killing your radio reception. Unless there is a di-electric loc-tite formula you'd be shooting yourself in the foot.

Best bet is to install a DEI inner fender antenna that is hidden. It uses double sided tape and sticks to the inside of your fender (front or rear) and essentially uses the fender like a satalite uses a dish. Then put an acorn nut in place of your stock antenna.

Or you could go the real cheap *** route and simply cross thread the antenna .
