So does pulling the fuse completely disable the vdc or no? The way I have mine wired up is a switch to the fuse that everyone pulls, I can shut it off while I'm driving and have no break lights and do standing burnouts. But if I turn it back on it, it doesnt come back on untill I restart the car.

Jason had mentioned in a previous thread that you can completely kill VDC by disconnecting the harness under the center console. So what would be the need for a switch?

I have a base that I put an OEM vlsd in. I have driven more loaded Z's and I can definitely tell a difference in "computer interference" when driving near the limit.

The vdc can be turned off... but not competely! When ever you are launching the vdc will still kick onn.. under extremee driving condtions it kicks in.

What you are referring to is a completely different mod, IIRC. You have the fuse for the barke lights switched, when on, cuts throttle if gas and brake are presses at the same time. That has nothing to do with VDC... or does it???

So you can enable and disable it at will without having to tear into your console every time....

I get the whole switch concept; I would just like to know what wire to switch. Don't really care to see pics of the switch itself, but under the console where it's connected would be nice...

Does it? Hmm, I wonder if it's that I'm feeling that makes the car just not feel as responsive as I like it to be? The steering just doesn't feel very direct... I really gotta try to pull that plug and test this out; be much better to have a switch, though, so what wire and does it cut EVERYTHING off?

Yeah check the wires and if you just have a switch to kill the fuse then reset it it will not work. but if you use a grounded switch to the VDC button as well as the main fuse then when you turn it back on your VDC will be active again without restarting your car

(so i guess it works out)
Are you going to post a schematic of what and how you wired it up? What kind of problems and solutions did you come up with the be able to make this work while the car is running?

Hey, a new flavor to the VDC thing !

I'm getting a 350Z in Jan - not ordered yet. Thought I was convinced on the Trac version but now I have no clue again!

The 350 will be my daily driver (or weekends as I go to work by ferry) but I want to do some track work, say every second month and do tend to head into the hills for some "spirited driving" over the weekends. With that in mind, and the details included in this thread, is the increased cost of the Track version a waste of money?

Gimme a hint peeps!
Get a Track if that's what you want. If the 2006 are anything like the 2005, VDC is not an issue. It doesn't magically come back ON in extreme conditions on my Track anyways.

I ended up with the switch only working to shut it off then i had to restart the car before it would kick back on, this was corrected by running the switch through the grounded VDC wire. now it works even when the car is running

no another switch for the light is not needed. i killed 2 birds with 1 stone.... when i wired the new switch to the old VDC button it ended up fixing the light problem.... lucky me i guess

-=-=-=-I have had about 5 replys for the switch to be made, my friends mom owns a sheetmetal factory and he made me the bracket with part of thw switch and if i get some more replys i can mass produce this switch (well not mass... but around 50 or 60 would probably be the amount of switches i need to make)PM ME and i will save all PM's and ask for address and i'll figure out some kind of payment... it will be around $20....
