Out of curiousity, I would like to see what you guys prefer. One of my sponsors is currently making a beautiful kit for 2006 and I just wanted the input of my fellow Z drivers ![](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/icon38.gif)

Well we do have a Z instead of a sti so I'd say beauty, then very close to that is the function. But i don't care if there is a faster car if it's uglier... so there's my logic.

for instance, i hate things like non functional air dams hood scoops and or brake vents on kits just put on there for looks. i also think when it comes to kits less is always more. the more sleek clean and subtle the aero parts are the better.
i saw a guy one time with a really nice Z and it had an air damn scoop type thing sitting on top of the hood. i walked over to him and asked if it was hard to cut a hole in the hood for it. he looked at me puzzled and said what hole. i just stuck it on there with double sided tape.

True beauty comes from function, i.e. Formula 1 cars, the sexiest cars on the planet. I highly doubt they put any extra parts to make it look pretty. Although this might be a stretch for streetcars this is still my belief.

I believe that for street cars looks are more important that function. A nice looking bodykit doesn't have to give any function for me to put it on my car, if it does provide something extra its better, but for me not required.
For instance, the nismo full bodykit, which almost everybody likes... is nice and subtle, makes the car look better, but does not provide any function, maybe a little aerodynimics but nothing that you would be able to notice.

IMO...a little of BOTH. Reason why I say this is because most people will buy a bodykit simply because it "looks" good. You hardly here someone say, "I'm going to get this bodykit because it has very good down force." With that said, you have to find a balance between the two.

That's why I don't have a wing at all, I don't pretend I'm an F1 car that needs the downforce because I am going so fast and I am so light. My car will never have a wing on it.
I saw an F1 wing on a mercedes the other day. I nearly spit out coke through my nose in my friend's car.
PS: If they call you "rice" for doing that, what do you call these rednecks below? Do you think their car is "potato"?
