Question 350Z Specs the same worldwide??

Hi,

I'm going to buy a '06 350z in the next month, but I was told that Nissan uses different specs on their cars depending on the market (Europe, Asia, America). Is this true? Because my dealer here in Colombia (southamerica) says that the gear box and the engine itself is different from the one that you guy get up there in the States.
Also if a turbo kit was design in the states for a USA spec car, will it work ok and a JDM car?

Thanks in advance for you help and sorry about my spelling (Spanish is my mother language).

Andrés

Yes, this is true. But the specs usually aren't hp/tq related. Usually it is related to lighting and exhaust. For example, in some Asian countries, you don't need amber markers or signals, but they require stricter exhaust/smog regulations so exhaust tones may not be AS agressive sounding as they are in the United States. The hp/tq should still remain the same though...

P.S. Your English is better than some of our own citizens here (and even on these forums). I would never have guessed that English is not your first language if you didn't say so!

Ditto on the English. I don't know if they've gotten as strict as the U.S. but the JDM bumpers are usually not quite as strong but a lot lighter than USDM. Take the AE86 Corolla GTS in America vs the Trueno in Japan. Bumpers are shorter and much lighter in Japan. Keichi Tsuchiya actually puts the USDM heavier rear bumper on his Trueno to get more weight in the rear for better front/rear weight distribution improving drift.

Nissan South America must have their own web site. You can get specs from there and compare them to those on www.nissanusa.com to get the best idea.

I like the clip below the headlights for wiper-washers, but have never seen washer-wipers installed. Have you?

Thank you all for your replys.
I did check on some of the Nissan latinamerica websites, but all of the info is out of date and none of them have the chance of building you own car like you guys can on nissanusa.com.
Over here we can only get the touring model with no extras.
And I decided to ask you guys because my local dealer didn't even knew which type of differential our version comes with....
Ok, so the engine (hp/tq) is the same but what about the gear box? Is the gear ratio any different (6MT)?
