Default AT VS MT 2006 Z's

does anyone know the speed time different for the auto and manual transmission on the 06 Z's. Since there is a differences in HP and torque. 0-60 and 1/4 mile if you have them.

There is no difference, its just a myth that a manual car is faster than an auto and its been proven it isn't.

not entirely true....

1) you can put 3.9 final drive gears into the 6mt whereas the AT can only take 3.5

2) in the hands of a good driver, the 6MT will always get better launches

3) from a roll the 6MT has the advantage of holding the gear, whereas an auto car has to downshift first.

4) an auto car has more weight than a manual car (not much, but a little)

im just saying that there are benefits to having a manual car....and in the hands of the same driver, he should pull better times in a 6mt

1) I think he is referring to stock.

3) The auto trans has manumatic. If you are in this mode during a roll there is no downshift required. Select the gear and it stays until you shift but without the clutch and chance of misshifting.

1) Is that proved? I don't know anything about the 3.9 but if all it requires is trading out the carrier who is to say the auto can't take a 3.9? A friend of mine is a vette owner with the 4AT and when he got the 4.10 FD people told him that was crazy and should only be used on the 6mt but his car runs fine and gets great ET's

3) With the manumatic mode you can down shift to any gear you want if you are going to be racing from a roll

long answer: search

quick answer:

the fastest I have seen a bone stock (stock tires too) 5at go is 13.8 the fastest bone stock 6mt was 13.6. I have seen bone stock 6mt's run anywhere from 13.6 to 14.8 due to driver error and I think the worst I have ever seen an auto do is 14.4 with most in the 13.9-14.2 range. So it really depends on the driver.

There is less drive train loss on the 6mt b/c no TQ so it has the ability to go a little faster and trap at higher speeds than a 5at, but its not like the 5at is so much slower you will be getting owned in street races constantly.

theres like a 18 page thread on this from last week, seriously use the search function. This thread is going to turn into all the auto drivers saying they run 13's and it makes them superior. Then all the manual guys are going to laugh at them for buying an auto in their sports car and tell them the manual is faster anyways.

What is the 0-60 time on an auto 350z euth? I saw where a Manual Transmission version is 5.6 sec.

The manual is tecniquely faster. it all is decided on how good a driver you are. An auto has the ability to run the same times as a manual, but the trap speed of the manual is usually higher. So during a race on the highway a manual car will have the advantage. An auto also loses more hp to the wheels. I have a manual and have driven an auto and feel no difference in how the car pulls. THe manual in my opinion is just more fun to drive.
