Default schedule for tune up

did anyone do the tune up for your z at 15k and 30k miles? that might cost $300 if you do it at the dealer, do you think its necessary or not?

if by tune up you mean spark plugs, theres no reason it should need new plugs before around 40k

No. The majority of items are visual inspections. There's no point in paying someone to “check tire pressure” and similar items. Oil and filter are worthwhile, but the rest of the items you can do in 10 minutes.

No tune up necessary upto 100K (platinum plugs). As David said, no need to pay for visual inspections, unless you want to pay someone to check your fluids, brake pad/rotor wear, tire pressure etc.

yeah, i spoke with my nissan dealer and came to the conclusion that they won't replace practically nothing since i have aftermarket intake and other parts. He suggested instead of paying for the 15k service, just get the fuel injection cleaning, which was still 99 bucks, but he said with that they still will put it on the computer and adjust timing/idle and minor things if your car needs it. So i went that route instead. The car is running fine, solid idle, i'll put my own iridium plugs in when the time comes, but so far just regular oil changes and fluid checks on my part.

I just replaced my iridium plugs in my 2000 maxima. Manual says only needs it every 100,000 miles. Just to be safe, I'll do them on the Z every 50,000. But I agree that
$300 is a joke for what they're doing. Most is visual and can be done yourself.
