Maybe someone with the 5AT can shed some light on something... I heard the auto has no traction control off button. It would make perfect sense, but I was just wondering if that's really the case... and what button would you have on the other side of the steering wheel?? More transmission settings???

No on the autos, the traction button is right by your left knee, as on the stick models.

Going back, I found it, and it makes sense, but it could apply to MTs and ATs. I am guessing that it either would lock out certain gears on takeoff, or reduce the power to the wheels, like when you slip the wheels when the traction is on.

I was just giving yawl 5ATers some grief... it would be pretty lame if a Z came without any way to turn off the TC.

Do you know if the harness connector had live wires? Was it an open or closed circuit? Maybe Nissan planned an upgrade that never materialized for legal or other reasons.

I speculate that this could be to switch off the TCS; those that have VDC know that you can't completely disable the traction control when you turn off the VDC. If this is the case, this "switch" would serve as a sort of Launch Control in conjunction with switching off the VDC; I think Ferarri and Lamborghini have Launch Control for best 0-60 times.

Why doesn't somebody just attach a switch to the harness and see what happens...

Cool the Japanese have in fact mastered weather control to the point where they're able to install it in their sports cars. I wonder what the limits are for this ability to cause it to snow? I was inside my console this week and found the connector. Connecting the correct pins together did cause a small amount of rain inside the garage ... I'm still working on the pin combination for the snow feature.

He is right, I was referring to Right Hand Drive models, he just went the wrong way about it.
As for being a newb, he's been on the boards longer than you, even though you have well over 3200 posts. All that tells me is that either you are the go to guy for information, or a post *****, and from the looks of things, I am pointing at the latter as being reality. Not to say you haven't contributed, but you have an awful lot of posts for such a short time here, so you shouldn't be so fast to call someone a newb, newb.

Thats not the issue at hand....

I was trying to assist the original poster with his question...
I do not like to be told to "stay out" of his thread.... I did not say, or do anything wrong at all.... I might be the official My350Z PostWhore, but I sincerely try to assist fellow owners out... If thats a crime, than I'm guilty as charged!!!
And yes, he might have had more time "logged" into the site as a member, but anyone with 200 or less posts should watch their attitude(The same thing goes for anyone with more posts...) There's simply no need to conduct one's self as such.....
I was sincerely trying to help, and if anyone has a problem with that they can PM a mod if they are pissed or they can join the "Redliners.com forum"....
Cheers,
Your Official PostWhore,
