A good buddy of mine has dyno tuned almost all the gas brands down here. He has found that the Mobil/Exxon gas showed up to a 40hp gain more than others. The next best was BP/Amoco....and the absolute worst was V-power, by Shell, to my surprise. I figure as long as you stay with the major brands..bp/amoco..mobil/exxon you should be good. I've only ran Mobil ever since I heard about it.
All gas is the same until each major company starts adding stuff to it. Mobil uses the best detergents according to a couple of sources so until proven wrong thats all I will use...

More so than fuel economy (gas mileage), you should examine which gas is best for you car.
Go to: www.toptiergas.com for the latest info (under "retailers").
There was a previous thread on this. So far, the "approved" (i.e. "higher quality") gas stations are:
QuikTrip
Chevron
Conoco
Phillips
76
Shell
Entec Stations
MFA Oil Company
Kwik Trip/Kwik Star
The Somerset Refinery, Inc.
Chevron-Canada (B.C. only)
Before any criticisms are levied, you should know that I take this "advice" with a grain of salt. I'm not sure how significant the differences are.
