I have a large (28" x 20" x 8") hardside suitcase that fits easily under the strutbar. That along with the wife's makeup case, a small ice chest and a couple of soft bags easily fit in the back. Enough for the two of us on a 5 day stay.

1) Took off the cover. Pull from the top with a soft tool.
2) Cut off the locking tabs, leaving the hooks on the bottom
3) Built a land on the top out of JB Weld to put Velco hook
4) Took out Sub-woofer mounting plate. You have to take the glovebox latch off and unhook all of the locking tabs on the panel to get it to pull away from the Sub-woofer mounting plate and get to the screws.
5) Lined the inside of the huge cavity with black trunk carpet from Walmart. ($10)

Took about an hour.

 

im currently in palm springs and staying here for a 5 days. i took my 350z with a 7-day roller suitcase. it fit perfectly in the trunk. there was additional room in the front area of the trunk. the only downfall in the trunk is the rear bar, which doesnt allow u to utlilize the truck as a whole. and if that isnt enough, you always have ur front seat.
