Thumbs up Just had a 350Z test drive!

Yesterday, I went to Nissan and requested a test drive.. the guy who is supposed to accompany me was on his way out of the show room to go home since I came to the show room very late.. and since I had a bad experince before with Nissan and the way they treat their customers, I expected him to ignore me and go home but he didn't which gave me a good impression and that Nissan maybe have worked on a better treatment!

anyway,if he did ignore I wouldn't be that angry because I should've taken an appointment before..
the guy took me to the office, took my license and asked me to wait for a moment.. few moments and he is there asking me to follow him.. and then I saw that Bronze '05 Z waiting for me
he took the driver seat and said he would take me to a less crowded road since it was rush hour.. and he did .. and then he stopped and said "it's your turn".. OH FULL OF EXCITMENT

took the driver seat, adjusted the seat and off we go.. at first I was driving slowly until the guy said in a disappointed voice "accelerate, man!" and I was like waiting for him to tell me!!! FULL THROTTEL and .... DAMN THAT WAS A HELL OF POWER.. the car jumped and Adrenalin was being bumped into my veins at an enormous rate
I've never drove a beast like that before!! the car had auto transmission which disappointed me a little.. but nevertheless, it was a very thrilling experince..

I was so excited that I actually forgot to check other details and options of the car! I went over 140Km/Hr in a semi-wide curve and this car handels so well! I drove many other cars like BMW 730i, Lexus GS300, BMW 330Ci, Toyota Camry, MB A160 (duh!) but this one is so different, the grip is something else.. (btw all those cars aren't mine )

I am of the kind who start to shake when being overexcited and, hell, I was shaking after that drive!!

after this exciting trip, I went back to my weakling car (MB A160, 101 Donkey I mean Horse Power) and started that small 4-cylinders engine and went home.. I was very depressed and wanted to buy the car very badly
I can't imagien driving this car on daily basis

the trim was Grand Tour and it's the only trim they offer! the price they offered was $37333 with all options except for the LCD screen and the model is 2005..
what do you think? last year when they wanted to clear the '04 stock becauee '05 model was almost out, they gave an offer of $26666!
so now I assume they will do the same thing since '06 is almost out as well..

just sharing the little experince that I am sure many of you have had before

Very exciting story. I bought a 350Z without having driven one. I was so in love with the looks, that I didn’t care how it drove. Imagine my surprise after the sale when I was handed the keys.

hmmm you could get an enthusiast which is a great model and is a bit cheaper too. Not to mention, the 06's interior feels better all around IMO. Little extra details on the doors and the buttons/dash/etc feel of higher quality. (THAT JUST MY OPINION, dont flame)

why would anyone flame you?! anyway, about the enthusiast remark:
the trim was Grand Tour and it's the only trim they offer!

PS: i dont know, but i've seen some ppl get touchy when it comes the the Z interior since its first few years was a bit "cheap" looking to some owners. I just think it needed an adjustment thats all

nice one, when I first drove one, I had never driven a true sports car before, it felt so amazing.

I wouldn't have let the salesman come with me though! I took my local dealers demo out for 3 hours, that sold me the car far more than being joined by some sales gimp.

I'd love to take it by myself alone.. the guy isn't a salesman! he is just employed to accompany test drivers! so no it's a rule of test driving here.. unless you are well known but 3 hours test driving?! that's abusing, man j/k

he was very nice and friendly tho he hyped the car by saying that it could compete (STOCK NOT FI) with Porsche 911 TT and Vettes! I smiled but didn't comment..

Yeah 3 hours was sweet, he just gave me the keys and said "we shut at 5, see you later" That's how you sell cars, if your undecided before then 3 hours in a car will make your mind up one way or the other.

I'm the customer, I want the car for a few hours, otherwise they wont get a sale, simple as that. (Second hand cars are different of course).

(I have also had a Mercedes C CLass for 2 hours, Honda Jazz for 2 hours, Renault Modus for an hour and a half.)

davidv i almost bought w/o test drive. i had already had my mind set on the
Z period. but the salesman insisted i test drive anyway.

still didn't push it very hard during the test drive... but was enough to confirm
my feelings. the entire sales team was exceptionally nice and i was impressed.

Hehe cool story totally reminds me of the first time I rode in one. I got mine in Irvine and I talked to this sales guy for about a week. I told him I would be buying one by the end of the week if the offer was right. When I got there he was a cool guy he took my license and he said "here's the keys, have fun." That was a good experience, never been behind the wheel of a car with this much power and let alone by myself =). Needless to say I bought it on the spot. Plus! I live in San Diego so the drive back was the best, except for the fact I had to keep it under 80. IMO 37k is a little high for an 05 touring, should be able to knock off a grand or two, anyway good luck!

totally agreed! the customer is the center of the event
I shall go to another show room and request another test drive then by my own self alone!

haha , i think my first time around in the car i was VERY impressed with the cars GO factor.. but after driving it daily and getting the chance to open her up a great deal more, you kind of get numb to the feeling, and it doesnt feel as fast anymore

but thats just me..

Bought without test driving as well. It was either Z, G, or SLK500. And after thinking it through, I decided I'll just use the SLK500 payments to pay my mortgage. Had to think about either a auto G or a manual Z for half a month. Decided to give in and bought another manual again Hey, it's LA traffic.. sucks here
