Looked like damage to the front to me in addition to everywhere else.....airbags should have deployed, but what do I know (maybe nissan lied about having airbags in their cars, j/king)....Anyway, when I owned my 300ZX TT, I hit a guardrail ($14,000 in damage) and destroyed the driver's side quarterpanel and my airbags did not deploy......anyway, glad to hear you're ok!

Airbags deploy on frontal collisions over 20-25(?) mph (not sure about the speed). Anyway, you don't always want them in your face.

The Z is tough...glad you survived.

The 2nd and 3rd "after" pics look like a pterodactyl made a nest in your passenger seat.

Damn sorry to hear that, glad your ok.

The airbags didn't go off because he was upside down. When my brother had a seizure behind the wheel 2 years ago and went into a revine then hit a phone pole and his air bags never deplayed. We called general motors and they said the sensors will not let the air bags deploy if a vehicle is going up or down hill on a steep embankment or upside down because they can cause more damage than saving lives.

This fridge/freeway thing is getting rediculous. Last week I went to go get a Coke out of my fridge on I-15 and some a-hole almost hit both myself and the fridge. Geez..

In all seriousness, I am glad you walked away, but sorry to see another Z go.

Man sorry to hear about your misfortune. I hope you get a new Z to enjoy :-)
I'm puzzled about the fridge thing. Is it a California thing? In my area, there were at least a couple incidents involving nails on the road which caused lots of problems. There was another incident involving bricks that scattered all over the freeway.

I'm glad that you were not killed/seriously injured!

I'm glad that you were in a Z instead of a ZR.

Make sure that your ins. co. knows the replacement cost of the Z mods.

Make sure that you remove the lic. plate.

I'm glad that you're not 6' 5" [Like me] or taller.

Did the police see/note the refrig. on the accident report?

All again thanks for the condolences. I'm fine. I've been eyeing the 2006 roadsters I'm kinda hesitant considering the coupe cabin saved my life but i promise I will be getting into a new Z. 2 of the rims are bad. Once my insurance adjuster values the car I'll see how much i can get and we'll see if i want to salvage the rims.

Why would I need my license plates?

tomines - Glad to see you made it out alive. I too am glad the Z was designed to take a hit or two. One of the reasons I upgraded from my '84 300ZXT was the protection the 350Z offers. The 300ZXT didn't have the airbags and a lot of other safety stuff this newer Z car has. That 300ZXT wouldn't have faired very well in the accident like you had. It was the only car I had that didn't have the newer systems or the safety testing we have nowadays. Ah ..... Except the Camaro which has a full roll bar in it and is built like a Sherman Tank. So, I had to upgrade for safety sake.

It looks like the 350Z has one strong structure. I have seen a lot of wrecked Z's unfortunately but, all of the cars I have seen wrecked no one has been killed in.
This is a good thing .....

Once again, glad to see that you only had minor injuries with that type of wreck.

Wishing you a fast recovery and a great deal on a Z.

I guess they weren't kidding about the 5-star gov. crash test rating.

Kudos for walking away from that! You were meant to live. Now go and invent a better mousetrap.
