yea defintly the Z is a no go in the snow... the roads were all clear and pretty dry after a small storm in NJ last year. we dont shovel our driveway cause its stones and its flat so there was maybe an inch or 2 scattered on the driveway and i couldnt even get out. couldnt get out of my own driveway the tires just wouldnt grip. I threw some stones and dirt under the rear wheels and got out but then got stuck again. so i just left the Z in the middle of the driveway and bummed a ride to school.

Good choice. Even so, if there is enough snow on the ground, you will slip and slide with the blizzaks. But believe me when I say this, they are a thousand times better than driving in the snow with stock tires.

My girlfriend has a celica gt-s 6 speed. It's parked on my driveway right now because she couldn't get it out without ending up halfway on my lawn. So I just gave her a ride home. Her front wheel drive celica compared to my rear wheel drive 350z in the snow is no comparison. My car is so much safer with the blizzaks.

Have fun.

I spend over an hour today trying to get out off my parking spot with Yokohama AVS ES100 on. The result is that I only move 2ft. Got pissed, so I just order a set of Dunlop Winter sport M3 for $850.

St. Louis guy here too ... today was terrible. I woke up and no snow but I heard there was going to be a pretty good amount so I drove my mom's Expedition. Definitely a good choice, my dad drove my Z up the road and turned around because it was so bad. They took care of the roads around me pretty quick though so tomorrow the Z should be comin back outta the garage.

Yeah, I figured that blizzaks were pretty good, but how are they compared to the S0'3's. Which one might be better?

i got it home 9 hours at work with my car 4 miles away was crazy. it took another 15 minutes or so to get my car from the shoulder into a clear lane, but now it safe.

i left my flashers on thinking i would be able to leave work early, and i didn't want a snow plow to clip my back end if it did have to sit there past dark. anyway when i got back to it at 9:15 the flashers were still going strong and it started right up. i was in shock it was like 10 degress out today and the battery is 2 years old.

be safe out there guys

I wont be going anywhere this morning. At 8 AM I’ll call in work “sick.” Cough. Cough. Maybe later this afternoon the roads will be drivable. But for now, the Z is going to stay put under the cover.

lol... that antenna cover looks wierd. People were asking me if I was gonna drive home again for christmas... drive my Z back to maine in the middle of winter!? Hell no! I can't even imagine what it would be like on F1 DS-G3s. When I called tire rack to order them, the first thing the guy said was, "you're not gonna try to drive in the snow, right?"

And I don't think I could leave my Z parked on the side like that with snowplows going and everything.. I can just imagine one kicking up a rock and putting a big dent in the side. You wouldn't know until you uncovered the car again either. I think you need to move it ASAP!

Yeah, I live in CT and just got my Z two days ago. I knew this would happen.. there's a HUGE hill right before I get to my work @ CSC. I had to turn away half-way and park at a gas station below the hill.. Nice people, they're taking care of it for me... one of them gave me a ride up.. luckily there's a shop next door that might be able to get some snow tires on it for me..

There was supposed to be a bunch of snow on the ground here in KY. It was a no show for the most part. Good thing I have a backup plan. You know the family truck.

well it took me about 20 minutes to travel what usually take 2 minutes. then came the entrance ramp to the highway i made it up that slowly but surely. at the top i had to cross 3 lanes to get to the one that had been cleared by the cars on the road. i didn't make it to that lane instead got stuck in the middle of the highway. i finally gave up and inched my way to the shoulder and decided to call in to work and walk home.

as soon as i got out of my car to start walking a jeep cherokee pulls up and offered me a ride. he took me to work and i only ended up being 4 minutes late. i told him he was one of the few kind people in the world today, he said he did it because it was a Z.

so right now i'm at work and my car is sitting on the side of the highway. i'm having everyone that is leaving work check on it and call me when they pass it.

oh well i just wanted to say that there are still kind people in the world.

good luck out there and get some winter tires.

matt
I hope you werent the guy they showed on the news last nite with his Z stuck in the snow....but yeah you should never take your Z out in the snow unless you have ABSOLUTELY no choice

geez...some of you guys need to spend a few winters up north. Not only is there alot of snow, but the hills make it even better. Seriously, 1-3 inches is nothing.

350Z = no go in winter w/o snow tires.

Get a pair of good snow tires and she'll turn into a trooper. My Z is a year round car in Minneapolis. 2"+ of snow is never a problem with the Dunlop Winter sports on. Strange to beleive the Z actually handles better than my wife's Mazda 3 on snowing roads, of course she is running on All season Goodyear performance tires. Only problems are when you get the 5" to 6" and it turns into a snow plow then.

My Z drove just fine in the snow we had in DC. Got a set of Kumho ECSTA ASX all seasons installed, drove just fine. I am *really* impressed with this tire for the price.

Look remember this, beater or Z, NOTHING is going to keep you from sliding around on ice, NOTHING. The one place I've slid this week is a slight inclined offramp. Guess what, there was a Ford Explorer turned the wrong way on the side of the road and a Camry right behind it with its *** in the snow bank. The only thing that keeps you from sliding on ice are a set of chains, and the only time I've done that was in a 4runner outside of Tahoe.

Otherwise, my Z has performed fantastic in the snow this week. I parked it this morning because of the ice, but like I said, I would have done that regardless of my car. I'm not afraid of the Z, I'm afraid of all the a-holes that buy 4x4s for the winter and thinks that's a license to bomb around in the snow and sleet and ice. Like I said, nothing stops on ice.

And anyway, when the snow melts as it did this afternoon and I could get out and about again, nothing beats throwing a little Zaino on the Z and heading to the driving range - I'm sick, what can I say. I'm damn glad its my year round car.
