progressive insured me with a fresh reckless and a six month restricted licence.....but i do pay $200/month to them so they BETTER.

i hate insurance companies too....i've never made a claim or been in an accident....just tickets and they screw me every month.

Other than that my record is clean. I haven't been in an accident since 1994 and I'm 30 years old. Considering I am an attorney for an insurance company you'd think they'd cut me some slack.

Unfortunately, the company that I work for doesn't go out of their way to make us clients as well.

There is an even easier way around all this: Become self insured. It varies from state to state, but look into it, and you might find life easier, and you pay no one.

lol, please tell me this not understanding thing is just a running joke...

Just in case it isn't. Yes it was 14 years ago. He found it on his record just a few months after the incident. It's ancient history. He's telling a story from a land far far away in a time before time. Get it? It's not on his record 14 yrs later.

Get a Saint Bernard

Give him A LOT to eat

Give him A LOT of Ex-Lax

Bring him to the insurance agent

Leave him there

Insurance companies aren't obliged to take your business. You've made yourself high risk, live with it.

i think traffic laws differ from state to state. in michigan, points from a ticket stay on your record for 2 years. the ticket itself will stay on your record for 7 years even if there were no points involved.

I'm in NY and I have had Geico insurance for last few years. I could not believe how low they quoted my when I was getting my Z. It's part iof the reason I decided to get the Z....Insurance was so cheap. I insure My Z and my 95 corolla for about $125 a month. I do have a clean record though and 30 yrs old.

That's where I'm gonna call next. I have the Z and a 1994 Civic now. $125 a month is amazing, especially for Long Island. I even have that stupid 5 hour course certificate.

after 3 years the ticket goes away
This is not the case in all staes. In NJ, when you get a ticket that carries points , 1 point is deducted from your record for every year that you don't have a violation. For example, if I got a 4 point speeding ticket today, 1 point would come off this time next year (assuming I don't get any other tickets during the year). So it would be possible to have a points for a long time if you get a ticket every year or so.

He's not saying it's on his record now. He's saying 14 years ago he got a seat belt ticket and didn't realize it does go on your record until he saw it on there a few months after he got the ticket (14 years ago). It has nothing to do with now. This was all 14 years ago. It really wasn't that complicated.
