I envy those who have the time and means and paitentence to keep up on the constant cleaning

I guess that's just the US. All we get in Canada is the performance M6 or A5, in previous years it was Performance M6 and Touring A5.

edit: and Track when it was available

Chrome silver is a nice option. Its not real flashy, but classy.

I found that red shows swirl marks fairly easily. I bought my '04 Redline in Jan '05. I guess it had been on the lot for a while because it had quite a lot of swirl marks for a "new" car. I put three coats of Zaino and most (virtually all) of the swirl marks are now gone.

Not to sound like a commercial, but I'm pretty impressed with the Zaino. It repels a lot of dust. My car looks great for 3-4 weeks between cleanings. Eventually, it does get dusty, but a simple rinse takes that right off. Bird poop comes off more easily, as well.

The best part is that I Zaino'ed the rims, so most of the brake dust just flys right off. After 3 weeks, my front rims are only lightly dusted.

Should just consider your color maybe earliest April. You'll change your mind again. And if you can, return those damn parts. Watch, they'll come out with better pop chargers / CAI / exhaust than the one you have when you are ready to buy

Seriously tho, I think it's really bad to buy mods prior to owning the car. If you buy it 15 days advance of buying the car, that's fine, but 6-8 month ahead? That's like doing your girlfriend and then buying bunch pink girl baby things prior to knowing if you are gonna have an abortion or if it's a girl or boy

Good one. Actually I wouldn't buy pink or blue or worry about an abortion, I would just kick her to the curb Kiddding. Of course I would buy pink and blue and a coat hanger, just in case

What's the difference between buying 6 months early or 15 days?

I have been on a spending freeze for like 10 months now and I don't need anything for Christmas cuz I have enough toys I don't use already, so I bought some stuff I will need and use in a few months. It's like buying a coat that's on sale in July. You know you will need it and use it in a few months

Like I said I hate to wait for mods. Nothing worse than getting a new car or bike or whatever, ordering up all the cool stuff ya want and you have been picturing in your mind, then being told half of it is on backorder. Just ask those guys who ordered and waited 3 months for their Volk's LOL They know how much wating sucks

it really depends on what your want people to think of when they see your Z. i have daytona blue, i got it because it stands out from a crowd of black, white and silver cars that infest the roads, and its my favorite color and just like the black color, colored rims look very good on the daytona blue (except maybe white rims). but that was my consideration of color when i bought this car. like if i got a lamborghini, i would get yellow because its a sports car and i want it to stand out. of course lamborghini only gives you a few color options but you get what im saying about having a sports car that stands out or a sports car that blends with the crowd. it all really comes down to what you want your Z to be.

Are you saying a Lambo can be yellow because it's a sports car? What does that make the Z then?

I've got it narrowed down to silver alloy or red.

One of my concerns with red other than swirl marks, is what the tailights look like. I never cared for the shape of the tail lights in general but think I dislike them even more on a red Z for some reason. I need to go back and look at the red '06 they have on the lot during high noon this saturday. I looked at it Sunday and it was getting dark outside, so it didn't help much.

I really tried to invision what my Z would look like in blue and I'm having a hard time getting excited about blue, though I have seen some that look nice but when the windows are tinted it looses something, at least to me. plus it's a fairly dark color too, which brings up the swirl issue and dust.

Taking everything for my wants and needs into consideration, it's red or silver. By not having a garage to keep it in, it really limits my choices.

I think he is saying that people buying lambos, ususally like to stand out, hence they ususally pick colours that stand out from the crowd.

In a historic point, most of the early british sports car were ususally painted with very bright colours, some with stripes and circles on the side hence the historic point of it.

As for your choice of colours, go with what you want, since you will be living/driving with your decision for the rest of the cars life. As for me, I love attention and standing out from the crowd, so I choose Lemans Sunset and everyday I get compliements for the choice of colour I went with.

You're not nuts. I ordered about $10,000 worth of mods 10 months before I got my Z. Now, my Z is not even 6 months old, and it's already almost a complete show car.

I went with a black 35th anniversary. Black just can't be beat when it's clean.

Good luck.

I have black, I only wanted black at the time and I passed on many different Z's on the lot b/c I had to have black. It's great when it's clean but now I realize I don't baby my car enough to have black, mine always looks dirty. My car is my DD and I love it, but I don't clean it as much as I should for a black car. If it bothered me more I would wash it more but I guess it doesn't.

My vote goes for Silver. Seems much easier to keep clean then other colors and look's good.

I am Biased, but Chrome Silver has my vote. Hard to see scratches, no swrils whatso ever, and easy to keep looking shiny. also This silver in my opinion does not look like many other cars on the roads silver. BEN

According to amsweigart@hotm's post... the post above yours, silver on the Z already looks like the silver on that golf. So who knows what other silver car the paint will look like.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I am hoping he gets silver. The less 350Z out there with my colour, the more rare my car is

Dang, I been at work for 4 weeks now and we have firewalls on our computers. I only see X marks on picture that are from various sites like photobuck/ image shack etc. The Z silver color is quite different in person in the sun than most other auto makers silver. Its more vibrant I think.

BEN
PS- I really like the Le Mans also. My best friend has a Le mans Track. Just not a color for every one. My girl friend saw one parked a few months back and she goes, why would anyone want a car that is the color of a basketball? I had to laugh, but didnt tell her I secretly love that color.

I used to have a 337 as well. It was a fun car. Did a lot of work to it.

Too many silver Z's out there...it seems like I see two or three a day. Go with Black, nothing looks better when clean, plus it forces you to take better care of your car, and the more you clean it the more you appreciate it.

although I haven't found any cool looking graphs as of yet, all of the articles that I have read totally contradict the graph above. They all state that the Enthusiast model is the most popular model.

If I had to do it over again, I would have just gotten that. I has just about everything I wanted.

You are right that the Lemans Sunset is not for everyone. A lot of my friends tried to talk me out of getting a Lemans Sunset. But I didn't listen to them and when I drove up to them, they loved it and changed their minds about the colour. But they still told me that they couldn't get that colour, it would only work for me. They told me I had the personailty for that type of car. I love attention and I have an outgoing personailty and I'm pretty self-confident. My friends who are the oppisite said they are more suited to black and silver, cars that will fit in and not draw attention to them.

I remember being stopped at a red light in the middle of downtown and my sister had to roll up the tinted windows because she was so uncomfortable with everyone staring, while I loved the attention. So you are right, sometimes the personailty determines what colour you pick.
