Your interpreting<sp?> it all wrong, 1st pic they hide behind the car because the could give a shlt if it gets shot up.

2nd pic they would rather be shot themselves than let the Z get hit! They are protecting the Z

 

as the original poster stated, first picture stating the VW looks small but fits a lot and tough... I don't think it's "they could give a **** if it gets shot"
the 2nd stating Z is too nice to be shot at and they're protecting it..

edit: on the bottom it states, voted: the most beautiful car of the year
