Default Never seen more wrecked cars than this forum!

WHY?!?!

Is it because the Zs price is more accessible to younger drivers?

I belong to a couple car forums and this one TOPS THE CHARTS for wrecked cars. We get at least two wrecked Zs every month or so it seems. Breaks the heart!

What the hell is going on?

All in DA weather man, Z's are not AWD and not meant for snow, however a few proud Z drivers think they are. Also a few think the OEM tires when bald work well in the rain, WRONG!

They arent bad in the snow brother, good set of winter tires, a little skill and your set!!!!

Back to the main subject....

Could it be the shear number of members on this site vs the others????

The folks that have wrecked had OEM's, I agree snow tires are a must, those that risk it pay the price!

I think this is the first RWD car a lot of people have ever driven. They're used to the safety net FWD affords. You over cook a corner in a FWD and you understeer or just go straight. Do the same in a RWD and you're doing the merry-go-round.

Seems that many of the wrecks posted recently are results of bad luck with some other moron running into the Z.

Never seen more wrecked cars on a forum then what other forum?

Most people who have a 350Z are car lovers and will join a forum like this and will ususally posts pics of their beloved Z if it ever got wrecked.

You won't see too many people with Sunfires, etc. join Sunfire forums or post pics of their "beloved" sunfire if they wrecked it.

There are more than 90,000 350Zs on the road. Maybe 1 in 10 post here. I notice that wrecked 350Z drivers have been members for less than 6 months. The evidence is anecdotal, and of little value.

In my book, the Z is a finely tuned/balanced machine, with looks that can kill(nobody EVER revs on me, cuts me off, or drives aggressively around me when Im in my subby!)

.........add a "core dump" of testosterone(estrogen?), a healthy dose of inattention, an unexpected road condition, some untested driving skills....there you have it.

Hell, my Subby has 167ft/lbs MAX torque....split across 4 wheels.......I couldn't get into trouble with that if I tried.....my Z is running 430 ft/lbs.... between the accelerator and the State Police......I'm in trouble if I fart....

I think people put to much trust today in electronics like traction control/etc.

No matter how much you try to make it idiot proof, they'll keep making better idiots.

What he said......Even with a unmod Z, it takes time to make the car a part of you. Any car. With lack of driving skills (which some folks never get) and bad situations, the die is cast. The Z can be a loaded weapon in the wrong hands at the wrong time...

The more cars get written off, the rarer the rest of our cars become hehe. j/k, i've noticed far too many lately, bad news, wouldnt wish it on anyone.

As stated, a big mistake people make is using the stock rubber in the snow. It's rated for summer only, not all season!

Yeah, (to the original poster) what's the std deviation around the mean? How about kurtosis? How large is the population sample? Wouldn't your results be skewed by the fact that you are actively looking for 350z posts vs say, the Sunfire example above?

::I knew the math major would come in handy::

Blabbing on empirical observations without data or analysis is useless to me.
