ditto to that. if someone showed me the new GT-R and said it was a new hyundai, I'd probably believe them and tell them its still ugly. sorry to the GT-R guys, but that thing isn't very smooth IMO. although I'm sure it'll look good while it passes me

I was at Performance Nissan and even thought about putting a deposit on it but of course they said they couldnt since they havent gotten an actual price or spec sheet on it. They did say however that they will get a maximum of 2 a month and they were pretty sure I should keep checkign back withthem sicne the first few months were all goign to be pre-orders, meaning we cant just walk in and hope for the 2 monthly arrivals since they will more like ly be pre-ordered.

Agree. How many will be on the road? What will the demand be for aftermarket performance?

I am sure we will see *many* GTRs here.

Hell at work our parking lot looks like Car and Driver's top ten and Motor Trend's Sports car of the last 5 years covers.
I guess it all depends where you live. 70-75k is alot. Alot of people spending that money rather get into sumthing more luxury. Sum people rather have a Porsche, Benz etc...for the money instead of a nissan. Of course me being into the tuner world rather have a GT-R. So, I doubt we'll see that many. But I bet we'll see them around. I better start saving!

The GTR will on a different level compared to the 350, but that doesn't mean people won't mod the car. Just because it cost a little more doesn't mean people are going to leave it stock. It's quite silly to think so actually. Plenty of people mod their porsches and M3s, especially people who visit forums such as this. I can't give any specifics about demographics, but I can tell you that when I go to M3 meets and a few porsche meets that the owners look just like 350z or g35 owners, just the cars are different.

For the performance and price, the GTR looks to compete with the future e90 M3, Z06 and to some extent, the cayman and 997. Each of these models will sell in a decent amount of volume and there will be plenty of mods available for each.

although i partially agree, but then, still, i mean the previous GTR was priced at about the same range right?? just that it was only sold in japan, and guys that bought those cars DID modify the ***** out of their cars, thats why we seee monster GTRs?

I think it's going to release around the same time, if not a little before the new E90 M3. I scoffed at the prototype picture, and I think that this car will fail much like the NSX did. For that much money, you're dumb not to step up and a better performing German car.

It might not outperform, but you are talking about driving a Carrera S vs. a Nissan. We will not even talk of quality, etc.

Maybe we will be able to do an engine swap? That would be nice.

remember how they took the supra off of production? therefore making the celica the "sports car" of toyota...even tho its a piece of ****. dont get my wrong the z is NOT a piece of **** now. well i think when the gtr comes out its gonna do the same. its gonna make the z a piece of ****. think about it. y get a z when u can get a skyline.......i just know when my time is up on the z 4 or 5 yrs from now. im not gonna get a new z. its either the new sky, supra, or m3 each one pushing over 400break hp. prices will drop. sales will drop. they might even take the z off of production for few yrs. 30k z or 50k sky. ill spend the extra 20k for the sky. i mean come on its a skyline for gods sake lol

Z (fairlady) and GT-R (skyline) have always co-existed. This means nothing.

it means that I'll sell my daily beater Sentra, and replace it with an R35 GT-R

.. the Z will still stay the 'baby' in the family.
