Yup ... got my second package today.

This duplication might be the result of me changing my order in early April ... changed the color and dropped the splash guards.

Different package number too (2142 & 4354), but the address label numbers are the same as my two "official" confirmations. The package numbers vs. date-of-fax-to-Nissan would correlate with the other dates previously plotted on "Scaf"'s graph.

Whatever caused this snafu, this package will remain unopened.

Since I have noted my dealer's inability at communication on several occasions in this forum, does anyone have any suggestions for verifying whether I should be looking out for one "Z" in August and another one in September? LOL!!! (... and you all thought waiting for one "Z" was nerve-wracking ...)

 

The packages are free.

You gotta pay for that extra Z though.

I wonder whether your dealer actually cancelled the initial order. The dealer might consider it a good thing to have a spare early-delivery Z on the lot.

Did they make you sign new paperwork for the new changes?

 

I also got a second package today.

I originally ordered mine at a dealer who's salesman said all of the preorders went to FODs (Friends of Dealer), but that they could still put in orders at MSRP but that they would not come in until December/January at earliest. Put down $500 Chrome Silver Touring w/all options but Aero. Have asked what status is but have not received any info.

Pre-ordered another one at Hamilton Nissan Hagerstown, MD - same exact car. Received the "black post card" mailing listing Hamilton as the dealer and then one of the "prize" packages on Saturday.

I have not cancelled the 1st order becuase you know sh*t happens and I wanted to be prepared.

Do you suppose the 1st one made a pre-order cut-off?

Supposedly my corrected order cancelled out my original order ... at least that's what the 'change order' said. As far as intentionally keeping my original order "alive", my dealer can't sell his allotment of pre-orders .... how in the h**l is he going to sell an 'extra' one from the lot?

I received the pre-order "black post card" mailing listing my original dealer yesterday and showing delivery as September - November. So, I guess my previous order did somehow move into "pre-order" status. So, now I have 2 cars coming. I guess I will need to unload one of themn at some point.

And, I guess the right thing to do would be to give the pre-order "prixe" to whoever I "sell" it to.
