After a car accident - 2 Sell or Not?
For those who have been in a car accident (NOT totaled), have you considered selling your ride?
For me, it’s never the same, regardless where it was hit and how bad the damage was. It’s the constant reminder that it’s been in an accident.
In addition, it will be on the CarFax report as a “Possible Frame Damage” (Typical comment after an accident when you go thru an insurance claim)
In long term, if I ever wanted to sell the car, I would think most buyers would choose a car without any damage histories.
If it does sell, I will probably get less than the actual value due to the fact it’s been in an accident. Agree?
So, would you sell or keep your ride after an accident?
Here’s the link and the story to my accident.

For something as cosmetic and minor as that, I would keep it. It isn't worth all the money you lose in trade in, downpayment, sales tax,...
Sure, I see where you are coming from, but on the realistic monetary side of things...the car will be the same. Good thing about insurance is you pick who fixes it...find a good shop, if something isn't how you want it, go back until you are satisfied, you are the customer.

Yeah I saw your pics man...not bad at all. Even cars that haven't been in accidents are going to get small dings, scapes, etc...no car is ever going to be perfect. Yeah you prob will lose a lot if you go to sell...so keep it...screw carfax (repairs aren't always even reported though). Enjoy the car. I'm sure it can be fixed to look pretty damn good.

Sold my 03 b/c I overzealously did a lateral slide too far and hit the curb with my rear tire making that wheel look more like the flying back to the future wheels *sideways* They fixed it all... replacing everything for that wheel, all the control arms, gosh, everything you can think of... but alas.. it was never the same... It just didnt' take the bumps the same even after repeated complaints that maybe something was still wrong with it.. they inspected and it all checked out. So maybe was just in my head or maybe not... but i traded it in for an 04 and have been much happier since with a pristine perfect car.
