Question Help!

So I've had a car on order since Nov. and it will still take between 2 and 3 months before I get it. Cruising Nissan's site I found a place 30 miles away that has almost the exact car that I want available now. I just got off the phone with somebody at the dealer who was going to check to see if it is available still. Should I have him hold it? Should I dump my current dealer? I don't want to, he's been a great guy so far and treated me well... I called and talked to somebody else who said they couldnt' do a dealer trade, which sounded odd to me... I'll try to talk to my rep tomorrow morning and get the straight story...

The real problem, though, is that I was planning on having a few more months of savings before I purchased the car; worse yet is that I'm looking at loosing my job real soon so I am not sure how much I can allocate to a new car

Should I wait another 2 or 3 months? Or should I get this one (if it's available)??

HELP?!

At the risk of Bob giving me the monkey, maybe you should hold off on an immediate Z and see what happens with your job. You could keep your current order and play it safe. Then if things work out better for you, you would have even more money to put down on your Z.

Just a thought.

if finances are iffy, then wait, but if you can have the car now, dont let worries about your screwing your dealer effect your decision. he would do the same to you if he could make one extra penny. I dont think your leaving him in too bad of a place.

That's a no brainer. Better wait to see your job situation. Hate to have them repo your car 'cause you couldn't make the payments !

Well, Its not quite as bad as that... I've been seeing this comming for a while so I am pretty confident that I'll have a job very soon after this one. Even so...

You guys are probably right... The guy hasn't called back yet (how the hell long does it take to check if a VIN has been sold?); if it isn't available then it'll make my decision for me
