I suppose your right but do you really think insurance companies sat down and thought that out?...I think there has to be something more because it looks to me like the insurance for my 01 Prelude will be higher than the Z's insurance and that just doesn't sound right...

There are three certainties in life:

1) Death
2) Taxes
3) "What do you pay for insurance" threads on these forums

Well it's an N/A and not a turbo, It has 5 star collision rating, the car is inexpensive for what it is. Plus there are a lot of cars out there now with 300 plus horsepower. I think insurance is relative to what else is out there on the market.

46/Married/Good Driver Disc. /Multiple Car Disc.

500 ded coll
50 ded comp
100/100/300
uninsured motorist 100/300
Towing

$379 every six months for an '04.5 Z

Plus on top of this with Allstate for every year you don't have an accident your ded drops $100 up to a total of $500. So, for both of us we have an effective ded of $0 since I haven't had an accident for over 8 years and that one wasn't my fault, but it would count against you in this system.
The wife has had an accident for over 15 years. Knock on wood. Lol !!!

That car is high on the list for being stolen for parts. That's a big reason for the difference. Best way to determine is to call your insurance agent and have him give you a quote. Especially, if you are on your parents policy. That should make a huge difference.

$750 per 6 months for me. When it's due after the first 6 months, I will look for a lower rate elsewhere, which at my age I should get with my clean record.

In your case, you might want to take that information and go to a insurance broker. Also check Progressive / Geico on line quotes.
I know that Mercury is another company with good rates and service.
Important to realize it is one thing to get a cheaper rate and another thing to make sure the company pays off easily when something happens.

In my case, I am truely in good hands with Allstate.

this is great news...im still shocked. No accidents, one ticket (failure to signal), been driving for 3 years...Im fighting the ticket and the date should be late this year or early next year. For that purpose I will not tell them when I am getting the quote. Also, I took the defensive driving course. Dont know if that helps..hey as long as Im not paying more than $1500 every six months, Im happy.

With your record etc... I don't think you'll have any problems getting a good rate for your age. I'm still thinking under $1200 every six months is the worst you can expect.
