Looking for a Z
My wife is trading in her Corolla (sp? who cares.) for a Maxima or an Altima so I've started looking at trading in my Prelude for a 350. I don't want to eat the new purchase depreciation, so I was looking to get an 04 maybe. I figured with an 04.5 I'd miss most of the major hassles associated with a new model yet still get what I was looking for in the money department. But I had some questions.
1.) Where's the build date tag? Driver's side door? What's the cutoff date I'm looking for?
2.) Any way to easily differentiate between models using the VIN or something of that nature? Is there a level I should go for?
Thanks in advance. It's a $25k purchase, I just want to get as much info as humanly possible before jumping in. Thanks.

hey bro...what kinda prelude did you have? I had a 01 base 5 speed oem kit rims bolt ons and a nice drop...HIDS also. I miss it. I sold it 2 weeks ago. Im in the market for an 04.5 z aswell. Base will be fine for me. anyway good luck with the search
btw I will buy another lude in 3-4 years. Its just a great car to have

Most people usually recommend the Enthusiast trim of Z because you get quite a few options and the price tag is lower. I personally own a Performance model and love it but I don't like leather,
. As far as differentiating trim levels I'm pretty sure that the only way to tell is by the equipment on the car. Go to Nissanusa.com or Edmunds.com and look up the different packages and that will help you. Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I"m sure someone will chime in with more info.

Enthusiast is best bang for buck.
Good plan on 04 or later.
If no cruise control (cc) on steering wheel, its a Base.
If CC & TCS but no leather or Bose, its an Enthusiast. (Could have aftermarket leather)
If CC & VDC but no leather or Bose, its a Performance. (Could have aftermarket leather)
If it has Bose stero, its a Touring.
If it has Brembos, its a Track.
