Default anyone else have this problem? help

This is really starting to **** me off. First off I have owned a base z for several weeks and I am very satisfied except for one thing. whenever I drive over pepples, sand, etc. the rear tires kick them up and make LOUD pinging noises. I haven't noticed any damage but its very annoying. No other cars that I've been in have done this. I don't have splash guards installed but I'm not sure if those would help. What does your z do when driving through debris on the road? What can I do to make it stop? I find myself avoiding several roads.

I have a Performance with splash guards and the stone chips in my driveway pepper the wheel wells when I leave in the morning. The tires pick them up like crazy and the noise is discincerting. I don't think there is anything I can do unless I pave 150' of drive. Even that won't help since pulling into parking lots with loose asphalt also is noisy.

Why? Little thought to sound-proofing in the rear? Bare metal instead of some coating? I'll have to live with it until someone comes up with a problem that Nissan owns.

The problem is that there is little or no soundproofing in the rear wheelwells. Several folks have written about adding soundproofing and all indicated that it helped. You can do a search and probably find the threads

it will mostly go away as the tires wear down in a month or 2

3 months here, still kicking up, but its just rocks hitting the wheel well, no damage being done. some contributing factors would be the wheel wells being in the cockpit since its a hatch, and lack of sound proofing. there is a spray you can put on the outside (inside of the wheelwell) thaqt will ehlp... of course this means a bit of extra wait, not an amount that you would ever notice tho.

personally, its only bothered me to think I was scratching the car, but Im not, so I can save a few bucks and turn up the stereo. but if it peeves you, there are certainly options available.

ahh yess, I'm glad i'm not the only one! well I do turn up the stereo to get the sound to go away as its very annoying. But very interesting posts/thoughts, I hope we can solve this because I really hate when it happens. Its not that big of a deal I guess, but still.
