I'm even happier, but was never dissapointed.


My only complaint would be lack of attention to the Silverstone and Pikes Peak White, but noone ever accused marketing folks of haveing taste.

I guess the stepchildren will just have to wait...

never was unhappy. 287 hp, 60 mph in 5.4, stopping distance 164 feet, styling, and continuation of Z - family for a great price imo. i never understood all the angst about hp, antenna, 0-60 ect. i beleive most people are buying this car for looks and performance on the road, not at the track or to "smoke" mustangs, wrx's or whatever. they want a car thats fun to drive, looks great and at a great price. Nissan"s delivered.

 

There's plenty of questions that are yet to be addressed by Nissan. Some of them are simple and should have been addressed months ago.

1. Where are the pictures of the Black & White Z's? These are the 2 by far that have gotten little to no Press at all.

2. Where are pics of the frost interior? Seriously people have placed orders for this and we can't even get a look at it after 5 months.

3. Can we get a color picture of the splashguards? It would be nice to see a vehicle with all the bells on it...Everything....why not...somebody ordered it.

4. What is Nissans 0-60 time, and 1/4 mile...scratch your own back if nobody else will...I'm sure they have some numbers to share with us....why hold back now. The embargo is over.

5. It's been said the you can have the airbag passengerside on/off switch installed. Guys and girls with kids want to know how much this will set us back?

I'm happy the embargo is over, we've waited patiently for months now. Share the dam info Nissan or just ship my car over by speedboat...I just want my car. Starting to get frustrated. I don't think I'll ever participate in a pre-order program again. I don't have the patience.

 

RXO...can you finally reveal yourself...and tell us who you are what you do for a living and how did you know so much about the Z???

I'm WAY happy. I have to admit, in a surreal way, Nissan is absolutely brilliant at how they're bringing this car to market. I can't think of any other car manufacturer who put the time, effort, and money into the release of a car in this price range as Nissan has. And for that, they deserve a huge round of applause. (Subaru, are you listening? Don't screw up the release of the STi next year!!! You'll have some mighty underwhelmed buyers!!!)

Buying the Z could have just as easily turned into a shark tank of dealers marking up prices over MSRP, with the buying experience culminating in a kid who can hardly spell 'Z' handing you keys, a stack of papers and sending you on your way.

I might be in the minority here, but the experience of buying my Z has been totally cool. Thank you, Nissan, for showing the world the right way to treat an enthusiast base as dedicated as we all are.

I mean, think about it. Buying a Z could have just as easily turned into nothing more than signing some paper, getting keys, and driving away. Where's the magic in that? You might as well have leased an Eclipse...

 

This thing looks like I should be shaving a block of wood with it. If I were an RX-7 owner (and I almost was), I'd be shaking my head in utter disappointment.

 

I can't decide if I like the looks or not.
