Default Hertz is renting Z's

I checked a guy @ my hotel today who pulled in w/ a brand new 06 PPW Touring Edition Z. I started talking to him about the car and he was like it's not mine. I'm thinking his buddy let him borrow it. Then he goes they gave it to me @ the airport. Sure enough I look @ the keys in my hand and they have the Hertz tag on them. I was shocked. Next time I go on a trip and need a rental I'm calling Hertz.

Most of the retal cars are I-4's or V6 autos, I guess the Z can sneak in as a v6 auto.

Lucky bastard. I had to rent one from Hertz for $125 / day, as discussed in this thread last week.

I'm renting a G35 Sedan now and enjoying it.

In Hawaii, I'm game !!! That would be fun to tour the island Maui and Oahu in a 350Z convertable. I scared the you know what out of my wife by driving the rental car onto the beach while we were in Maui. Played with her a little, spin the tires in a bit. Told her we were stuck. It was close to 3am or something about 15 miles from town. She started to cry .... Oh no, didn't mean that. Let the air down in the tires and pulled right out. That was my plan. However, the plan backfired when she cried. It was supposed to be a joke. Not a good thing to do on your honeymoon. She didn't think it was funny. Mater of fact she still doesn't think it was funny. I do.

Anyone else feel bad that their near $40k car is being rented at a slightly non-prestigious company?

Heck the mini vans they rent cost more than our Z's do. Lol !!!

I think it's a acknowledgement of bang for the buck. I'm just going to enjoy renting them when I go on vacation or work out of town. I do a lot of that so I'm OK with it.

It isn't insulting at all . It joins the good company of cars like the Shelby that was a rental way back when . Anyone old enough here to remember ?

You can rent a Ferrari or Lambo for the right price. I dont see a problem with this.

Very interesting. We are going to be in northern Virginia and DC all next week and we had been thinking of renting an Alero or some such mid size, but I will have to check into this as I would much prefer to have a Z33 to explore the area in. Good find!
