They put the names ***-backwards so they don't seem like their taking the names. Every car company has to put a cool name to the paint color, it's a great marketing tool. I think it's cool that car colors are named by tracks. I wish the Z came in Laguna Seca Blue like the M3. I love that color for some reason. Look on the brightside if you ever talk to a guy with the new Z06 you could tell him where they got the ideas for the paint names.

You are correct. I owned a 1998 C5 Corvette prior to buying my Z and Lamans Blue was a standard color. Daytona Orange however is a new color they came out with in 2005 when they changed the body of the Corvette and went from a C5 to the new C6.
I love the Laguna Blue on the M3, it looks exotic. Mid 90s Porsche has that color too. My favorite 06 Z color is the Interlago Fire, awesome color changes from direct sunlight to non-direct sunlight. Speaking of Corvette colors, Millennium Yellow is the same as Ultra Yellow, only difference is the sparkle in the UY on the Z.
