just got the BIG BAD news
well it was finally confirmed.
I ordered my car on 12/7/02 with the dealer (i missed it going into NNA system by a few days). It went in to NNA system on Jan 7, 03, or so I thought. I have been calling the dealer the past 2 weeks trying to get an order number, etc.......well it turns out that the 3 Zs that they ordered, were "kicked out of the system", meaning that they were NOT allocated those cars. But they didn't know it was kicked out until they did some digging. It turns out that a guy who normally orders the cars (sales manager, a very good guy) was out of the country and delagated that to another guy. Well, it just so happens that that other guy is NO longer with them (these guys jump dealers like crazy), so NO specifics are known as to what happened with the ordering process.
I have tried to see what they could do about finding a car for me, but as many of you know, the production has been decreased and MANY dealers don't have cars. The dealer did a search and there is NO car from SoCal to vagas that is like the one I ordered.
I guess the worse case scenario will happen and that is that they are FOR SURE allocated at least 1 car, for feburary, and MINE IS IT. it is ONLY less than a week away (Feb 4th), which is NOT too bad, BUT it hurts when you realize that it should almost be getting built by now, PLUS I was ONLY 4 days late from getting on the car ordered in Dec
A SIDE NOTE-my family happens to be partners in the business, and my dad was PISSED about what happened. He works at another facility/dealer and isn't involved in the day to day operations at Nissan, so there isn't as much that he can do. It will all be fine in the end, BUT I am getting VERY impatient.
the guys are good guys that take care of me, and I know it was an honest mistake (if you can even call it a mistake, I don't know how or when they are even informed that the order was kicked out of the system). I can't wait for this thing
btw, for those of you that get the car MUCH later than you expected, this COULD be one of the reasons why, if they make a mistake like this for one of the owners kids, I am sure it is very possble for others
