Default How dangerous is this?

Not saying I am going to install this or have any ideas about doing it but I was wondering, off screen, how dangerous is this?

Things are for show (and I can gaurantee you that the Gemballa Porsche does not have this stupid kit on it). Not for use when driving, you need to be running test pipes and it's hard on your engine (have to change oil alot more frequently). As far as safety, it's not bad, you just wanna make sure your pipes are extended to where flames won't affect the back of the car. See them most on classic hot rods/trucks.

Actually, it's a self-defense system against car-jackers. It is very popular in South Africa where there is the highest number of car-jackings.

When you are at a stoplight, the car-jackers would run up to your door and try to enter the car with a crowbar or gun, that's when you switch on the flame throwers. That is why the flame throwers are on the side of the car , because that is where the car-jackers would go.

I thought I would post the video to make fun of the original poster's link, I wasn't suggesting that this was a "looks mod" LOL

Here is the article: http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/africa/9812...e.thrower.car/

I don't know where you got that it is an alarm system.

Seriously. Don't do it. I wouldn't be surprised if a cop took you to the jail for doing that.

Ok for the last time, I have no plans on doing this. I was just thinking about how fire travels and I thought it would be possible that that fire produced travels along the fuel line and hits your tank...

The Porsche picture is misleading because that's a Gembella car that's uber tuned and it does that on it's own.
