Hey I installed the popcharger with a friend and the day after I was traveling from school to home which is only 3 exits. Going 70mph most of the way and in 6th gear. At the exit I put it in Neutral to coast to the traffic light and the car shuts off. Same thing happened today driving the same route. Anyone have any answers? Does it have anything to do with the PopCharger? or putting it from 6th gear to neutral? or because I took the VCD off?

You would probably get a better response in the intake/exhaust forum, but your ecu most likely needs to learn the popcharger in reference to the change in airflow. Have you tried resetting your ecu?
Not your Popcharger.
Your car shuts off because it can't understand why its doing 70mph and is in neutral. To be honest I don't understand why anyone would do that either.
Pretty dangerous.
If you wanted to just coast why not put it in a higher gear?

how do u reset the ECU?
and ive put it in neutral when on the exit ramp just as a habit, i think it saved a little gas but i guess ill stop doing that. But the car only now shuts off when i do that after the popcharger was installed

i always coast in neutral if i see there is a red light, stop sight, traffic ahead of me and I never stall
i think its the pop-charger... i remember reading something like this before... try searching.... def there i think

that's definitely not true. I coast in neutral when coming to an upcoming stop fairly often. I'll be around the same speeds as well.
Yes it's the popcharger. There are only about a million threads already asking about this same exact problem. Do a search, you will see what I mean.
BTW, there is nothing wrong with coasting in neutral to save gas in certain situations, unless of course it causes your engine to stop running... lol

To reset the ecu, you can do one of the following:
1. http://www.technosquareinc.com/350reset.htm
2. disconnect negative battery cable overnight.

just installed mine yesterday, are there any signs that it might turn off in neutral (SES light, lumpy idle, etc). Mine works perfectly without any SES or anything, but never but it in neutral at 70, I have at around 40mph, and everything was normal.

Different from the stalling and popcharger,
Are you guys serious, cruising with 60 or 70 mph towards a traffic light in neutral ?
To save gas ? The only situation to shift into neutral is when you are at a complete standstill.
If you doiing this in Europe you will never pass the driving test. The way
I learned; approching point to stop= lift up throttle, downshift in necessary, gently brake on the engine and comes to a complete standstill with depressed clutch in gear. If you have to wait go in neutral or shift in first gear. Never coast in neutral. That is the way I was teached.

Let's get this "coasting is always bad" notion out of our heads.
You guys are really running this coasting in neutral thing into the ground.
We're talking about driving on the street under normal conditions, not trying to obtain optimal performance on the track. The street is NOT the place for high-performance driving. Yes, downshifting while braking does normally decrease your stopping distance. If you NEED to do this on a regular basis, though, you're driving too fast for conditions on the street. As far as failing a driving test in Holland goes, I'm happy for you. Congratulations on being European and more enlightened than all us dirty Americans. Before you get to comfy in your high throne, though, the past tense of "teach" is "taught," not "teached."
So why don't we all just move past this coasting vs. running through the gears thing? I dunno...maybe get back to this guy's question.
And what is my opinion on this guy's problem? Reset the ECU and you shouldn't have this problem again.

I was racing an RSX-S revving high in 6th gear when I let the shifter into neutral because my radar detector went off. my car shut down and i was flying down the freeway so i got off an exit and came to a stop and turned it back on. one of the scarier experiences ive had with my 350
