Yeah I was sitting on a bench with a girl and had this young kid walk up to his car with my cell phone and starts taking pics of my car. I go up to the kid and say hey bud you like it? He responds Yeah! Is it yours? I say yep, wanna rev it up. He gives it some gas and his friends probably thought he was the coolest kid in the world cause they were shocked lol. Funny stuff.

Theres a hooked up g35 coupe in my town, with a gtr bumper and nice wheels, iits tastefully modded and is a real head turner. Anyway i finally ended up behind him and decided to mess around a little.. we both turned it on on a 2 lane highway and ended up next to each other at a light. Neither of us knew how this was going to go, me being 22 and him and his buddy looking the same age (tension)... but we ended up talking and he threw me some great compliments and told me hes got some 350 parts laying around from his brothers car, if i remember right. haven't seen him in a week though..

This weekend on my way to the hamptons I pulled up next to a new carerra, dude was with his girl, probably 30 or so. I revd a little and we both took off after admiring each others cars.. I won't go into the details but i ended up pulling a full car on him in my HR, we were both at FOT in the triple digits before i slowed down. Man the HR has some 5th gear power..We both looked at each other like holy crap that was insane.. his girl was yelling and hitting him .. 2 min later we were cruising side by side and a new camaro comes flying up on us and passes.. It was a blonde chick... the porsche pulls away, probably trying to redeem some dignity. They both disapeared shortly after as i continued hanging out at the speed limit trying to stop shaking.. couldnt believe that happened.

I think it's a compliment when folks speed up on you then slow down to follow you...

when i was test driving my z a kid in the car next to me taped there dad and made him look at it. Sold me lol

coming around a corner, i fishtailed a little and this guy in a truck leans out the window and gives me a thumbs up.
another funny story. im interning at a law firm and i go to pick up one of the junior lawyers. shes pretty good looking and older older than me. i pull up next to the court house and stop pretty fast. i lean out and say "hey babe you need a ride?" she plays along an gets in as a few guys look over and just stare. it was great.
i get tons of people looking at my car as i go by, and thats a compliment in itself. sometimes people will say something, but the majority don't. even though most people would think it's an insult, whenever someone mentions it being "my dad's car," i always smile because not only is it my car and even though i am young, i still paid for it myself

 

Yeah I like the jealous types who are driving the beater and say "Oh my xxx HP 2001 Camaro can own you." Just smile and say "Yeah well mine looks better!". I get a kick out of that! :P

 

My lawyer has a 2006 Carrera 4, and he may launch quicker but over a 1/4 he loses.

 

well I have pretty much gotten used to all the compliments and thumbs up/stares. However yesterday I was shocked.

I pulled into a gas station to get a rockstar on my lunch break and held open the store door as an elderly lady exited as well.As I walked to my car I could see her in my cars reflection right behind me.She then says "Is that your miata? Its so cute!"

My jaw just dropped and I quickly reached in grabbed her dentures and threw them into traffic.J/K about that part but seriously how can it get mistaken for a miata?!!!!

 

I was at the grocery store parking lot and an elderly white man pulled up in his cobalt ss and starts jabbering something to me. I'm in the middle of loading the groceries into the car and didn't realize he was speaking to me. When I look up, I hear him yell "Have you driven a Ford lately?" before reving his cobalt and speeding away in the busy parking lot.

I was flabbergasted and couldn't respond. I havent seen him before but I was feeling a little threatened. I know he was speaking something about asian cars taking over american ones. And since I was an asian driving an asian car, I figure he thought it was worthwhile to express that frustration against me. But I'm not sure why he asked about the Ford as he drove away in his Chevy cobalt...

Perhaps a very far fetched point, but this cobalt driver's frustration could be viewed as a compliment towards the "over-taking" Z.

 

On the way to get some food i pulled up behind soome sick *** car i didnt really recognize it at first until i read maserati we got to another red light and i pulled up next to him and he rolled down his window i told him nice car and asked about stuff and etc. then he told me that he really liked my car and was gonna get one but got that instead haha it was tight

 

So he was considering to spend $35k but instead decided to spend $120k?

I don't have many mods on my car... but it's pretty much blacked out- lights/windows, etc. I also have black 20's. To me, the best part of my car is how the Nismo Exhaust sounds when I'm in 2nd gear and accelerating. I'd rather listen to my engine/exhaust then the radio anytime.

Anyway, I varied my commute and decided to take surface streets instead of sitting on I5. I was driving around the shopping district in Downtown Seattle yesterday late afternoon. ( 4th and pine ) Still a lot of people walking around. To see the guys smile and point and the ladies turn their heads to see what the hell kind of car is making that howl echoing off the buildings. And then to stop at a light and have dozens of people look with more than a few nods or heads up cross in front of you.... at more than one light.... then to be able to go through most of downtown and hit all green lights- 2nd gear still... exhaust note still amplified by the buildings- made my knees weak!! I love this car so much, I'm having 2nd thoughts about trading it in for the new Nismo ( black ). who needs payments again?

The only time I got more attention is riding my Ducati 748s with termi's... pull up to the movie theater friday night to drop off some cash for my son (16) in front of all his girlie friends. He said he went up a few notches for having a cool dad. LOL
