Driving 1200km straight
What do you guys think about taking the Z from my city to vancouver which is about 1200km away. The thing is I will be driving Alone and I have never driven that long by myself I usually go with freinds and we switch. BUT this will be my frist trip with the Z in the mountain and some sweet *** road. I am afraid that I'll go crazy since there is no chick or freind to tell me to slow down.
What do you guys think?

i would definitely do it.
but first, make sure your car is up to spec. check all fluids, change oil if this trip will put you past the service interval, etc. no one knows your car like you- if your car has been relatively trouble free, you have little to worry about from the car itself. the bigger risk is you.
i love driving so i'd do it. walk with enough music, maps, cell phone, etc. and enjoy the trip! as others said if you get tired, get off the road. 1200km is what, 600mi or so? be sure to take a few breaks. beyond that you should enjoy it, especially if the roads are any good- the car is made to be driven and if its just you and the car, all the better.

That what I thought thanks alot for the post bro. I'll probably be leaving on saturday early morning. Gotta go burn some nice CDs. Too bad I don't have XM radio.
1200km = approx. 745 miles for us American folk.
Thats nothing to be honest. Take an extended break when gassing up to stretch, ****, eat, and you'll be fine. I've done several 1000+ mile trips by myself without issues. I find the Z very capable in those situations.

I drive from calgary to vancouver every year. It's fine. Once when I was young and stupid I drove from Red Deer to Vancouver in 8 hours.
The roads have deteriorated badly though. The government only uses about 2 percent of our road improvement taxes for actually working on roads.

very nice ncenary. If you have time take the old No 1 route instead of the new toll highway. But it will take longer. Watch for radar, normally close to town. Watch for wildlife if you're driving during non-day light hours. One of the best sections of No. 1 in Canada.
enjoy it

The last 3 hours are the easiest if you're taking the Coquihalla. But watch your speed when coming out of Kamloops and then again down the long *** hill into Merrit... cuz thats where they'll get ya
It's all about getting in the zone when ur driving, then the miles just melt away. I used to drive 900 miles straight to get to college, but that was in my Maxima, I'd have to stop more often to stretch in the Z. Good luck on the trip and enjoy, oh and dont sweat not having xm radio, its like cable tv, a lot of stuff you dont really want to watch or hear. ur better with a mulit disc cd changer and to utilize the shuffle feature.
Like everyone said its a mental thing. I go on roadtrips of a least 1500+ miles once or mabey twice a month. Tho its mostly in the Z, its sometimes in our Matrix and my hubby is with me, who usually drives to our destination, I get stuck with rest (1000)
Some sounds, food and drink and some breaks and it goes like no time at all.
Have a safe trip.
