Finally got a baseline Dyno on my Z...
Where: MRC Motorsports
Car: Stock 2005 Track 350z (300hp Rev-Up), 21100 miles
Dyno: Dyno Dynamics Load-Based Dyno
Conditions: Approx. 70*, low humidity
Results: 268whp, 233wtq
HP/TQ:
HP/AFR:
Not sure that the final results were SAE corrected... Jay @ MRC said they were, but I don't see it labeled so on the graph. A 2006 earlier supposedly did 248whp.
Thoughts?

Wow.. that seems silly high. Great for you though, but man.. I sure would love to know how and why it's putting down almost 270whp bone stock. You're not including any dealer installed NISMO parts in your 'baseline' are you?
Seemed like cars were dyno'ing high all day though, 03-05 guys expecting 235'ish with a short ram and a catback were seeing numbers closer to 265+. I guess it's one of those things you think about, but certainly not something to complain about.
Oh, and I was the other completely stock 06 touring (2300 miles). I spent most of the day amazed there weren't any other 06's around. I guess I missed you by an hour or so.

That does seem really high. I would have to assume that's wrong, especially if everyone was that much higher than they expected. You could be right, it could be that the numbers arent corrected, but it seems more likely that the dyno isn't calibrated correctly.
If they are correct, pat yourself on the back, because you've got one heck of a Z.

Dynapacks show higher numbers, not rwhp, as the wheels are not on, and causing parasitic drag. We are talking about a significant weight loss.
Bump to see if anyone has dynoed higher stock, with rwhp, not a dynapack.
I think you have the highest ever Scott. We'll see if it helps you keep up with me in St. Louis.

No, car is completely bone stock '05 Track model with 21k miles. Only thing I've done is switch to Mobil 1. No mods. This was to get a baseline.
The dyno was done on a Dyno Dynamics dyno. Its similar to a Mustang dyno, in that its a load-bearing based dyno. (It actually says it right on the dyno scan. )
Warren - Haha, your skill > my whp.

Actually, that might very well be putting out numbers that are higher than the average corrected Dynojet. Go back and ask if they apply correction to their Dyno Dynamics.
Some shops (on this site) run Dyno Dynamics and apply a "Dynojet" correction factor which actually overcorrects slightly, producing higher output than the average Dynojet. What's funny is the people that dyno there come back bragging because they got high numbers on a Dyno Dynamics machine...

1) What gear did you dyno in?
2) How long was the actual run? My understand with load-based dyno's is you have to time the dyno to run with how long the run would take in that gear, or something to that effect.
Their response was:

I'm currently looking for shops in the NJ area to run a baseline dyno for SAE corrected plots on a Dynojet. I'll post the results once I get them just for a simple, yet mostly meaningless comparison.
