How many miles do you have on your 2003 350Z?
2003 Track.
175k miles.
Only R&R was window motors (and normal maintenance, plugs, fluids, etc). Full high-mileage synth since about 60k. Been running TD borla, Megan racing pipes (no cats) UR pulley, plenum expander, jwt pop charger, all since about 65k.
I've been babying the hell out of it for the last 40k. Very rarely do I even get on it. Should hit 200k by February 2011. You guys will be the first to know.

03 enthusiast with 71k.
Bought it used with 44k, put in some work and it runs better than when I first got it.
One question for you guys with high mileage... anyone figure out an easier way than changing the head gasket to restore compression? Or any maintenance other than Nissan's recommended to revamp performance? Thanks
BTW, I have motordyne plenum spacer and takeda intake. I also flushed all the fluids not long ago.

This is a great question that I've brought up to other Z owners and tuners in south florida. Many of them insisted that I dyno my Z first to see just what type of compression I was really getting. Most of them said I'd be surprised to see that I was likely not losing much compression. As far as your other questions, I am trying to decide once I hit 200k what I am going to do. Part of me wants to run the VQ until she won't run, at that point either drop a built VQ in it and get it ready for forced induction, or salvage it. Bottom line is, as far as revamping performance, I imagine (at 200k anyway) I'm going to need new clutch, new valves, gaskets all around, and internals are probably tweeked anyway... so again, I am thinking I might as well looked at using forged components and going the built direction.
Thanks for the reply.
I am impressed that your car is still holding its own at almost 200k. I saw some decent rebuild options available for about $2,500. I was thinking about pulling my engine apart and putting in all new gaskets, etc. I guess I'll just get an exhaust, some HFCs and go get a tune. Prob make it run like new.
Thanks for the reply.

I know, these seem to be a lot of hype, but I just installed a grounding kit. Obviously, it is nothing crazy, but I did notice the car starts much crisper and when my headlights are on and I lower the windows the headlights no longer dim. The electrical current from the battery has certainly improved. Idle is smoother too. I figured I'd throw that out there for anyone who may be interested.

jk... just over 68k on my 03 Performance. Probably hit 69k by the time I put it away for Winter soon.
