trust me...you don't wanna know. The amount I've spent, you can build a 1000+rwhp Z easy...the fuking canadian customs fuked me up the *** with the parts crossing the border. I'd say just shy of $100K including the car which I paid about $50,000 for otd (canadian MSRP plus taxes and blah blah blah).

I have a build slot for the F430 spyder but I doubt I'll buy it...too much markup for me. The GTR is a definite when it comes out, but in the meantime...maybe the new 997 or wait for the new M3...dunno... I'll just ride my R6 first anyways.

 

Happens to me every so often. I just take it with a grain of salt & ignore it cause unfortunately ignorant people can buy cars so therefore you're bound to run into them. It was probably a ricer who finally got the funds to upgrade his Civic & now thinks he's the shiet .

 

I get that stuff all time too. What is weird is, I'm the young dude (21 - paid for it all myself) and OLDER guys (25+) look at me like that. Like they're better than me and speed off. Some dude did it at the grocery store like 2 weeks ago...
My g/f and I are walking out, some dude and his g/f walk out behind us. I noticed a Silver Enthusiast/Base (one of the two) Z parked a few spaced from my Redline Track Z, I said to my g/f "oh look someone else has a Z, cool stuff" - just kinda remarking, not being smug or anything, genuinely happy about it. Dude behind us gets in with his g/f to said Silver Z and proceeds to look at me and my g/f all hard like I insulted his Ferrari or something. He rips around the parking lot and takes off. I'm just like sitting there thinking "Dude your like 28 and you bought the Base model and act like a 21-year old with a Track model is below you for some reason" We both own the same car, why couldn't he have said 'Nice car' or waived or something.

This is the thing I miss about being a VW guy (used to be), while they don't have the fastest cars by any means, they (most vw enthusiasts I've met) all respect each other and like other modeified VWs. I miss that, cuz the Z community definitely isn't that way.

Yeap... I get the same thing and the Z isn't even mine yet. I took it on a short test drive and rice boys were pullin up next to me sayin it's my dad's car. Well I work 3 jobs so I deserve an upgrade from my 94 Mazda 626 (which I'm turning into a project). My 3 jobs: Car Salesman, Financial Advisor, Entertainment Park Manager. Being a 19 year old and owning a sweet car = insta-haterade from others.

I don't let other people dictate my decisions. I didn't get a Z to please anyone but myself. I certainly wouldn't let some punk in a Z make me consider selling my ride either. Don't you think that would be just a little bit irrational?? Hopefully you have other reasons? Just because he didn't ask you to pull over for some road head doesn't mean you should cry in your frosted flakes. He was probably just jealous anyway. You should be happy you have something that makes other people with nice things jealous. You could be some poor toothpick in africa dying of aids and starvation. Why don't you realize you have things better than a lot of people in the world, and call it a day???

 

I agree. The other day I was driving my daily driver, an 03 Civic Si lowered with some Rotas and an intake. This Yo boy (white kid with hat cocked sideways, crouched down in his seat with thumpin music) in a stock G coupe was driving ahead of me. As soon as I pass him on the highway (because I happen to be going faster), he accelerates and gets next me. I just looked at him and shook my head. If he only knew what I had at home. Then he takes off driving like a ***** cutting people off and what not. It really is annoying. I'm not old, 27, but some of these kids are just flat out stupid.
