The door rattle ...it might sound like it will fall off but I was t-boned last month and the lady that hit me hit the gas instead of brake large 4way stop.End results her buick totaled my 350z hit the door and didnt cave in just had to replace the SKIN and that is it...but had front repainted while they were at it yea paint stinks blame it on the government EPA standards , clear coat is the only thing holding your paint to the car.Good luck with your Z but take it from me these cars will take a hard hit and keep going. I feel safe in my car now.

Who cares, they're under warranty right? I had to replace 3 window motors in my VW in the last 3 years, all free.

defects and broken parts are not good for the integrity and reputation of the car company. I would never buy the same car again if I had lots of problems with the first one.

When you start your car switch to Fresh Air for a few mins before switching to recycled... should get rid of it for awhile..

1. The first disppointment is that the door doesnt feel solid when the windows are rolled down. Whenever I shut the door with the windows down, the door sounds like its going to break. It seems as if the window isnt tightly secured within the door. Anybody else had this problem? Let me know if its just my car so i can get that fixed.
2. The second disppointment is that my air condition is starting to smell mildewy at the first several seconds at start-up. Is this a common problem? or is it just my car? It has been really rainy lately here in hawaii. There also seems to be a lot of water under the car after it has been parked. Could this ecxcessive condensation cause the odor?
3. The Paint job isnt that great and the quality of the body doesnt seem as good as my old toyota and my dad's lexus. Within the first two months I already had a chip on my front bumper. And no matter how often I wax my car (at LEAST every other week), the car never seems to feel as smooth as the lexus or toyota. Maybe i'm just being too picky. I must say though, I really like the color of my pikes peak white.

Is it just me or do all you other Z owners experience these "problems". Well, let me know if it is just my car that is like this.

1 and 3 are definetly common i have the same exact thing

What paint chips? Good thing for the clearbra. But the wall of the front bumper gets a whole bunch of bug splatter! My 03 Z touring with 31k miles did have minor fixes in the beginning. But overall its reliable.

1) The windows do make a bit of noise when you open and close the doors but 90% of the time when you open and close the doors are when you're entering and leaving, the windows should be closed anyway. I bought a Z to drive, not listen to how the door opening and closing sounds when the windows are lowered.

2) Never heard of this problem but if it's really that bad "for the first several of seconds after start-up," hold your breath? The water on the ground is formed by the condensation of the AC system's condensor. Water would have to be inside the system to create a problem, if it bothers you that much have the dealership look at it, might be something with the evaporator.

3) A claybar and buff/wax helps, I haven't experienced any problems with mine.

I think C6 Z06 owners have ALOT MORE things to complain about, like their roof panels flying off among other things.

C4talyst, I've got you beat, not three or four window regulators, but THIRTEEN replaced on my old Jetta 1.8T

I don't have any of the mentioned issues.

1. The doors I though were much more solid than some of my previous cars.
2. The A/C I tend to switch to fresh air a lot (like the manual says) to avoid the mildew smell; this has happen in previous cars as well.
3. The paint I think has held up pretty good and has held up against rock chips pretty good too! I have chips but my toyota was a nightmare! and my neighbors f150 has huge chips out of the front of it.

I had three--including two Cosworth-engined 16-valve 190s. While they drove wonderfully they were maintenance nightmares.

My two BMWs were no better. I'm sticking with Japanese.

By the way, with seven coats of Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze, my Z's PPW paint is smooth as a baby's butt.

Not sure if any one agrees but

1) car doors without the border attached to the door (sort of an upside down U shape; The G35 has it I think?) have a completely different sound than the ones that do. The ones that do, seal tighter and pop your ears whe you close the door hard. I noticed that on my dad's ES300 beater which is borderless like the Z and his GS 430 which has the border.

2) The issue can be resolved I believe and should be under warranty.

3) Either get a clear bra or repaint the bumper in 1 year about 200 dollars. (Dupont paint is very durable)

But seriously nothing to really whine about.

Agree. Its a poor design. Maybe that's the reason the windows do not work.

You live in Hawaii. The average humidity is what? 90 percent?

3. The Paint job isn't that great and the quality

I’m talked out about 350Z paint.

I live in Northern CA and mine smells like mildew crap too..

As far as the crap paint goes, yep it blows and when it's all chipped off, I'm gonna chrome plate every square inch of my Z and have all the windows coated with a one way mirror finish

I notice the smell after I turn off the AC though.

Paint chips are a Nissan thing, my Z had them, my Max has them and our G35 has a few of them. The Maxima and G35 guys complain about the front bumper chipping, it is the newer paint formula that Nissan has used since the late 90's.

Fact of the matter is whether it sounds like it or not, nothing will actually break; except of course the window motor may fail.

A/C odor spray $4.99 Kragen.

The Z has subpar paint. Guess what you're in a $25k sports car that stands up to much more expensive vehicles. If it bugs you that much just paint the front bumper for $600 every couple years. Clear bra by 3M also an option.

I feel you on the air conditioning! Mine was awful...I actually called the dealership and they told me i could buy an ac improvement kit for my brand new Z, well after i ignored them, about three mos later and the smell is completely gone thank god. So no worries man...it will go away.
