Default How/when do you double clutch/rev-match?

Hey guys!
New guy here. Just got an '04 350Z Touring 6MT with 6000 miles on it. I've tried search already on this topic (to avoid search police) and can't seem to find the right answers.

When do you double clutch?
How & when do you rev-match?

Please help me out here. I've been driving a stick for about 3 weeks now.

Thanks.

Thanks. So, what is double clutching then? What does it do? And what the heck is a synchro?

Welcome.

If you have been driving a manual transmission for only three weeks, maybe now is not the right time to ask about techniques such as rev-matching. Many techniques will come naturally with more driving. When down shifting, blip the throttle a bit, then shift. That is the technique, but does not explain the reason. When racing, the turn technique is usually: brake - downshift - accelerate. The proper downshift technique is smooth, and does not shock the transmission or force the tires to bite. When you get more comfortable with you car, sign-up for local auto cross. Real life driving beats reading and talking.

Not trying to be funny, but you must push in the clutch twice to shift vehicles such as the tractor above. Since the 350Z has a synchronized transmission, don't be concerned about double clutching.

Directions for use:

1) Drive the Z for another 6 months, then think about asking this question.
2) When you do think about asking this question, please "SEARCH" harder first as there are 409 posts related to this topic.
3) If you cannot wait to test out double clutching, just listen to Paul Walker, he's a Pro.

Anyway, even if it didn't:
Here are 5 posts with "double-clutching" IN THE TITLE:
https://my350z.com/forum/search.php?searchid=1362535

And here is 7 with "rev matching" if you search TITLE:

Man you people *****ing and moaning about the search engine are more of an annoyance than people asking repetative questions. If every thread wasn't filled with your nonesense maybe they could easily find the answer by looking in any of the previous threads.

Contribute to the discussion - or stfu and move on.

I've been using internet forums since before most of you ever touched a computer, so don't give me that BS.

This blue striped "newb patrol" crap is pretty damn childish too. The original idea might have been cute but it's just getting lame. You think these people would have something better to do than go around thinking they're some kind of forum police. Don't have much of a life, eh? Hell, half of these idiots are newbs themselves. They don't ever add anything substantial to threads, just a bunch of mindless yapping.

Here is a novel approach. If you don't like a thread, DON'T POST. If someone else wants to waste their time answering a repetative question, IT'S NOT YOUR PROBLEM. Shut your mouth and move on. There will ALWAYS be forum newbies. You can't "police" them forever, and acting like you're some kind of superior person is downright laughable.
