I pretty much only use my shift light when drag/street racing. I like it just fine. It serves its purpose and works well for me.

I think it would be cool if you could install a buzzer to optionally use instead of the light, too.

I also set mine at 6,500rpm.

At WOT, be the time it starts blinking at 6,000 and I reach for the shifter, it's almost at 7,000rpm....

I set mine at 7000 is because it'll come on at 6500. By the time I shift, it'll be at 6600, so I'm good. The only time I get there is when I'm going full throttle which doesn't happen in regular shifting so I don't need the light.. Plus, it's annoying when the light blinks at you for 500 rpms..

Wait a minute… what’s your hand doing off the shifter? (Make no mistake, I am not assuming you are “doing anything” with your hand while off the shifter)

I'm driving...

The Fast and the Furious type movies should not be used as driving techniques references. One hand at noon on the wheel and the other on the shifter?

Both hands go on the steering wheel for maximum control and feed back. Going for the shifter only at the moment you actually shift and then go back to the wheel.

That's what you'll learn in advanced driving classes.

+1 on that. Why would you drive with only one hand on the wheel? you have much better control with both and just take one off to change gear and put it back.

I cosign all of Kolia's takes. You can customize at what rpm you want the light to come on through the cars computer, just keep in mind what every1 said, that it blinks 500rpm earlier and then goes solid at your chosen rpm.

I set mine at high rpm's cuz its real damn annoying when you dont want it.
