Default Couple of concerns/problems with my Z

Everytime I wash the car, my brake disks seem to "rust" up?
Is this normal? What's going on?

I curbed my rear left wheel, a little scratch, hardly noticable. How can I touch it up? And what, on average, would it cost to get fix? (Nissan dealer or reg. mechanic)

Lastly, everytime I wash the car, stupid water spots come up, even after I dried the car with microfiber towels/terry cloths. Then I clean up the windows with some windex and some towels, but it doesn't get rid of them. How do I go about getting rid of the stupid spots?

Thanks all

Rotors = normal, will go away when you brake
Curb = Nissan will screw you, leave it...you'll do it again
Spots = Don't wash/dry in the sun

You must have real hard water wherever you are. Put a coat of detail spray on when you are finished, I think Meguier's makes it. And the rotor rust is normal like someone else said. As for the wheels check any dealership to see if they have a wheel repair guy to refer you to.

If you live in the delaware area. Its the water. I get that 2! It sucks but quick detailer does work! And try waxing your window with that new wax called turtle ice liquid wax. It is amazing. Even make the black piece by your rear vie mirrors look greeat!

+1 for the liquid ice, the polish and detail spray seem to work great. the polish is a bit hard to buff off sometimes but well worth it i think.

if you were to wash your car with water that was as filtered as bottled water, you would not have the spots.

i bought this water filter thing that attached to the hose and i never have the spots.

you can test it... poor bottled water in a cup, and put some water from the hose in a separate cup. poor one of the cups on one side of the car, and the other one on the other side of the car. let it dry, dont wipe it off. when it dries you will see only the hose water is left with spots.

Default Be Quick!!

The first thing I do after I wash the car is grab the squeegie and wipe down the windows. You need to get to the windows before the hard water dries on them.

Then, spray on window cleaner and SCRUB with the other side of the squeegie. The other side is generally a sponge material that is wrapped in a course nylon material, meant for scrubbing.

Make sure you dip this other side of the squeegie in water first and then fling off the excess water about 3 times. Leave just enough water on the squeegie to spread the window cleaner, and so that water is not dripping down the window too much.

Can you get the Meguiers detail spray at an auto parts store or do you have to order it?

vinegar should get rid of the spots, just make sure to work one area at a time and wash it all off once you get the spots off.
