There isn't one inside.* You have to release it from above the license plate!

*yes there IS one inside, but that's just for emergencies or something...

You don't have one in the car (well, except for the emergency release under the rear strut). You open the rear hatch by pressing a small rubber button located over the license plate. It is automatically locked when your doors are closed.

There is a rubber button right above the license plate area. Feel for it. Just push the button to pop open the trunk. Your doors need to be unlocked though. If your car is locked, it won't open. You can also press and hold the trunk button to pop it open as well.

+1 on that! Needing to shut the engine off to pop the trunk is one of the worst desing features of the car. After a round of golf I always get in the car to run the ac so the car cools off while i change my shoes, and stuff, then I go to get into the trunk to put my crap away but i cant. Gotta turn the damn car off! I guess nissan cares more about your possesions than the occupants considering there are no auto lock/open features for the doors, or at least none that I have found.

Umm...you can open the trunk even if your car is on. You just have to unlock your doors & then press the rubber button over your rear plate.

The rubber button shouldnt be that hard to find. I told my friend to open my hatch so he could put his brand new xbox360 back there, all of a sudden he says "was that it?" So i went back there and he popped my licensce plate lights out.....
