Default gasoline on car cover

about 6 weeks ago i spilled gas on my car cover. It has been outside ever since. Do you think i can still use my car cover, or should i trash it. The smell of gas is gone, but i am still worried about it eating the paint on my car.
thanks
andy

Have you washed it? Most car covers are washable. That should get the remainder of any gas out of it.

1. Wash inside-out in a front loading commercial machine. Warm water.
2. I have tried several different types of detergents. My favorite is Mr. Clean.
3. Dry the cover on the car.
4. When dry, spray with Scotch Guard. Two light sprays is better than one heavy spray.

+1. Do the same as you would do if you spilled gas on your favorite T-shirt. Throw it in the washer.
