Default V8 350's huh?

So tonight I'm driving through town an there is a kid with a Cobalt who I've seen around a few times. So he waves me over and I follow since I'm just out for a drive. When I pull over by him, he gets out and walks over and the conversation goes a little like this:

Him: "Hey man, I've seen you around, this is a nice ride you got."
Me: "Thanks, I just got it."
Him: "Nice. I got mine just a little while ago. What's your car got in it?"
Me: "Just a 6."
Him: "Yea? It's probably faster than my cobalt."
Me: "Is that an SS?"
Him: "Nah, it's just an LS" short pause "..but it's still pretty fast."
Me: "Oh Yeah?"
Him: "Yea man, I've lined up on some V8 350's. It's pretty quick."
I acted like I had an itch on my mouth to keep from laughing.
Me: "Yea? Well hey, nice talkin with ya but I gotta get goin' - I'll see you around"
Him: "Alright man, we'll have to race sometime - see how fast that thing really is."

Thank god he didn't follow me. I think I would have gotten pwned.

Man I hope so. I'd rather misunderstand him then actually think he's that foolish.

That’s next on my project list. I figured two more cylinders will guarantee me at least 2000 more horse power....

When you try to play the role like you know it all you never learn anything. He should have just admired your Z, asked about the engine and kept going, but he was too busy being the "street racer".
"It's what you learn after you know it all that counts"

So what if he did mean a chevy 350 or IS350 or 350ci V8 - would it really matter? He had a Cobalt LS! In addition to that, one would expect to know at least the cyclinder numbers in each car if they knew even a little about cars. And even if not in most cars, at least in popular ones like Z's, Cameros, etc. Hell most of them these days say it right on the back.

I also don't like being an *** to someone just cause they don't know what they're talking about.
