I dunno, but look around, I'm sure some stuff is cheaper there than here, but then again, it's Tokyo...maybe some rare stuff, let us know!

i think its going to be more expensive there... remember, shipping it back to the states might be expensive depending on the size. Unless u can fit it in ur luggage.

figure out shipping before you do anything. that could really make or break the deal.

Things in Tokyo are 3x more expensive than average prices in the US (at least when I was there in 2002). You won't be saving much money there.

Only buy something if it is a hard to find or special part that you couldn't easily get here. I agree with everyone else about how expensive it is there.

i went to tokyo last year, good luck finding car parts depending which part you are staying at, there are hardly any fixed up cars in tokyo when i was there for a week, its mostly german DTM power and mini cars, if you are looking for the car place theres a Super Autobacs in Shinonome by Shinkiba i think a train station away you would have to take tokyo metro to shinkiba then i believe JR rail to shinonome but its kind of hard to find and forget taking the taxi's they are expensive my bro and i were late for our flight back we ended up dropping $250 on a taxi cab from akasake to narita airport

to be honest with you 90% of the things i saw there we can get here via online....

but its a fun place be sure to check out shibuya, shinjuku, and roppongi

***ALSO you get TAXED FOR what you bring back here, customs rummages through your luggage because you are supposed to declare what you bring back***

have fun and a safe trip

Maybe you can get the JDM front bumper cover. IMO it is extremely rare. I think MC350 has it.

I lived in Okinawa for 13 years, always more expensive then here stateside. It was 298-300 yen to the dollar in the 70's and then much cheaper in Japan, had my 260Z there, but now around 117 yen to the dollar, so beware of the cost there is much more expensive now.

I would have to disagree about the number of fixed up cars, but you were only there a week. To really see the nice cars (and bikes) you have to hit the mountain roads or go out very late at night when they run. I lived in Japan for 9 years, and just like many of us the people with nice cars will have daily driver or take the train back and forth to work.

As for buying parts, it is usually more expensive. Personnaly I would go to Akihabura and pick up electronics that won't hit the states for 2 to 3 years.
